Moggie
This time last year I asked the question, "How many buoys are you hoping to progress this year?", see link below: http://ballofspray.vanillaforums.com/discussion/8000/how-many-buoys-are-you-hoping-to-progress-this-year/p1 How did you all do against that plan? Moggie
I massively underestimated the challenge 36mph would present. 12-18 turned out to be hugely ambitious and I only gained 5 buoys. If I can get over 5 this season I’ll be delighted. Means I’ll be into 14m.
Baller Cam Posted May 23, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 23, 2014 Added 2 buoys last year from the previous couple of years but still not back to my pre zero off scores but getting close, hopefully add another couple this year :o)
Baller skier2788 Posted May 23, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 23, 2014 Didn't add a lot to the PB maybe 1 but consistency went way up so I feel that is a good gain.
Baller MattP Posted May 23, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 23, 2014 Went up 6 red balls. 2@35-2@

Baller andjules Posted May 23, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 23, 2014 I was actually up 6.5, but that .5 was a pretty ugly, one-time affair
Baller Than_Bogan Posted May 23, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 23, 2014 Firstly, +0.5 is a big deal for a veteran on a 10+-year plateau. But also, the top-end doesn't really reflect my season. I ran -38 more times in this period than in all of history before that. So I call it an extremely successful practice season (my tournaments were OK but nothing special). -39, however, is completely beyond my reach. I don't think I'll be progressing there until either I spontaneously become more athletic or have some tremendous insight. So adding buoys may not be happening even while I am still becoming a better skier.
Klundell
I'm up 1.3 on my average during that time. Great year for me last year. It's going to be difficult to duplicate with a baby coming mid-July. Priorities...
Baller Than_Bogan Posted May 23, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 23, 2014 @Moggie 36 is goddam fast :) Fun though, once you figure it out.
Baller Chef23 Posted May 23, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 23, 2014 My tournament PB went up 2 balls. My practice PB went up up 3.5. Tournament went from 2@35 to 4@35 and practice went from 4@35 to 1.5@38.
bogboy
Went from about 4,@ 30,-15 to 4,@ 32, -15. My goal is to get 6 @ 32,-15, get consistent at it, and get full passes at -22.
Baller GOODESkier Posted May 23, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 23, 2014 @Than_Bogan agree with you, at some point there will be a point of becoming a better skier without much gain in ball count.......
Baller fu_man Posted May 23, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 23, 2014 @Chef23 It always feels good to shorten the line for the first time to the next loop but that day had to feel especially good.....run the -35 and shorten up to -38.
Baller Skoot1123 Posted May 23, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 23, 2014 Tied my PB of running 32 off and getting .5 or 1 at 35 off. So - even though I skied better/more consistently last year I didn't get into the shorter lines like I wanted. Maybe try that this year more frequently. Baller 6balls Posted May 23, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 23, 2014 Picked up two as a practice PB last year, failed to match prior year tourney score but set a big PB that year so tough to match...might never get it done. Also only skied 3 tourney rounds...2 of them on a severely sprained ankle. This year toast due to neck surgery...may have peaked...hope not! Baller RazorRoss3 Posted May 24, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 24, 2014 Only gained a buoy but dramatically increased consistency.
Baller gsm_peter Posted May 24, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 24, 2014 Last year I went from 6@26 to 2,5@32 (once) This year I expect to run stable 32's and a few at 34.
Baller Deep11 Posted May 24, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 24, 2014 Practice went 2@12 upto 2@11.25. Comp went 2@13 upto 5@12. Suspect I've plateaued - in fact given the frustrating mediocre sets today it s quite cheering to take note of last years progress.
