Baller foxriverat Posted May 19, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 19, 2014 Am I missing something here. Over the winter picked up a Radar strada switch knotless rope. The loops are too big for my pylon. The rope doesn't slide through knot to tighten on pylon. If I loop rope like my old straightline rope. The sewn in markers are wrapped on pylon. This doesn't seem right. Here are a few pics. http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb367/foxriverat/IMG_0615.jpg http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb367/foxriverat/IMG_0614.jpg
Baller foxriverat Posted May 19, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted May 19, 2014 Here is a middle section. I undid one of the knots a little to show how its made. http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb367/foxriverat/IMG_0616.jpg http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb367/foxriverat/IMG_0617.jpg
Baller Than_Bogan Posted May 19, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 19, 2014 I think most folks (including me with a similar knotless rope I use), just lay it on there like in your 2nd and 3rd pictures. Even though it sure looks like it could, I've never heard of one coming off. If you're uncomfortable with that, you can run the skier-side of the rope through the loop, creating a new loop, which will cinch when placed over the pylon. Baller rfa Posted May 19, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 19, 2014 I also do what @Than suggests (your 2nd/3rd pic). I use InTow ropes (same design idea) but InTow makes the loops fit the pylon pretty well...smaller loops for CC/MC and slightly larger for later models Malibus for their bigger pylon tops... Baller thompjs Posted May 19, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 19, 2014 Try this -- Tie clove hitch on top of loop. If rope breaks, all of the rope in the boat won't wrap around various limbs on the way out of the boat.
oldjeep
I just put ours over the pylon, haven't had an issue with it falling off
Baller foxriverat Posted May 19, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted May 19, 2014 Thanks guys. I will just put the loop over pylon like Bogan and rfa said. I was just concerned with it sliding down the pylon when your skier first gets in water before rope is tight.
Baller Kelvin Posted May 19, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 19, 2014 I have this rope and usually put the 15-off loop on the way you did in the 1st photo. After that, we just loop on the pylon, but I will start using Jim's method.
