Razorskier1
I have skied with several coaches and better skiers who have said it works perfectly. I also feel it runs amazingly well. Mapple 6.0.
GOODESkier
With my vote......I ALWAYS THINK THAT THERE COULD BE THE NEXT BEST SKI FOR ME! I have confidence that I would be willing to try another ski, knowing there could always be something better.

Porkfight
I think it was the best ski for me until the '14 came out, but it's sooooo much better than what I was on before. Not worth buying the new one.
TylerR
I'm certain my bad skiing has more to do with my lack of time on the water than my ski
Baller Wish Posted May 14, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 14, 2014 Missing an option.... I picked the ski thinking it was the best but did not try them all.
Baller chris_logan Posted May 14, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 14, 2014 I know my ability is well exceeded by my ski; however, the ski compliments my ability so that, as my ability increases, the performance of the ski increases in a ratio greater than 1:1. I still keep my other slalom ski, though, just in case.

Baller ski6jones Posted May 14, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 14, 2014 @MS which is impossible. Before you finished them all there'd be a new one to try. See @Horton.
Waternut
I loved the last two ski's I had and now I love my new ski more than the last two combined. Maybe I just have commitment issues or maybe I just haven't been on this ski long enough for it to make me hate it yet.
Members The_MS
@ski6jones I wouldn't want to do 15 sets and then a review, just get on them and ride to see if it would be worth taking more sets on them. The good thing is that I have 2 new Monzas as fall back skis.
GAJ0004
I know I am on the best ski for me, but I know I will have to get a new one on 3-4 seasons. I usually get 8 seasons out of a ski.
Baller chris_logan Posted May 14, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 14, 2014 There should have been a special option for @Horton that is simply "Yes"

skihard
Coaching has easily shown me that it's completely me and not my ski. It's hard breaking old habits that I've perfected over the years! But change is a necessary evil if I want to improve this I know!!!!! That and yes I still want a new ski!
TylerR
@horton or we could all just swiched skis before tournaments and win just like you do.
Chef23
I went with the I think the 2014 option because none of the others really fit either. I was only on a couple of different skis last year and I know that my current ski is better for me than the other one I tried. There are 3 or 4 others I would like to try and one of them might be the magic ski but I likely won't get the chance. Trying new skis is much harder than trying new golf clubs so I will probably just stick with what I have for this year and think about it next year. Baller ALPJr Posted May 15, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 15, 2014 When I am skiing well my HO Phantom feels perfectly matched for my style and ability. And, I also keep thinking about the next stick: Prophecy, Helix, Vapor...
woolly110
unless you have tried every ski how could you "know" that you are on the best possible ski?
Baller 6balls Posted May 15, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 15, 2014 Love my ski and very comfortable on it...having said that give me time on any of the new skis to get comfy and I'm willing to bet I have similar personal limits. Question might be which one allows me to be at the limit more consistently, or with less overall work. Or...which one allows me to get out the end gates on my tougher passes despite my usual errors. Moggie
As long as the ski isn't a limiting factor, I believe 95% of any performance gain is down to the skier improving. That said, I've not tested a range of skis so I have no idea how much different they feel.
Baller Murrski Posted May 15, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 15, 2014 Testing a lot of skis is simply not in the cards for me. Even trying 3 or 4 different new sticks each season would be challenge for me. I love my ski and it can take me where I want to go but I always have that curiosity of how other sticks would work for me. I am Irish and stubborn and have brand loyalty to the Kidder/KD/D3 family. That said my top-3 wishlist would be the Vapor, A3 and the new Helix. I'm currently on a Fusion.
Baller rockdog Posted May 15, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 15, 2014 I love my '13 Prophecy, is it better than others? No idea.. Would love to try a Nano, but what is the point as it's too expensive to buy. My old Sixam is still a ripping ski IMO.

Members SkiJay
I LOVE testing new skis. Because of my decades of setting up race car suspensions, dialing in a new ski is fascinating and I can't get enough. Winter is my favourite time of year because I ski on everything I can get my hands on and have a perfectly good excuse to mess with each setup to my heart's content. By this time of year, I know I have the best ski for me. Once I have it dialed in, I pretty much leave it alone so I find myself looking forward to the next test season and the next batch of new skis. Baller Skoot1123 Posted May 15, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 15, 2014 If the option of: I love my ski but I think there might be another ski that suits my style better was an option I would have chosen that. Have spent 1 season on the A3 - and I love it. I tested a Mapple 6.1 back in december and ran 1 28 off after having not been on the water in over three months. Not bad in my book. I'd love a Mapple........
Baller swc5150 Posted May 16, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 16, 2014 As much as I like my old X5pro, I really want a Helix. With a baby arriving soon, there's no way the boss lets it happen however.

Baller schafer Posted May 17, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 17, 2014 I know my vapor works best for me. But sometimes I think I should try different binding options. ie: hardshell, toe loop, currently on double stradas.
