Baller RazorRoss3 Posted May 8, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 8, 2014 The army core of engineers decided that they won't let the Coralville Reservoir raise to skiable height until the 22nd so today a few of my fellow Iowa skier dragged ourselves up to Eagle Lake in Evansdale, IA and did some buoy hunting in a 20mph SE wind. There was a little bit of protection on the first set but the second it was coming straight down the lake at you. Still, when you haven't seen a course since spring break (month and a half ago) other that one tournament it feels really good to be huntin' the buoys again. Baller 6balls Posted May 8, 2014 Baller Share Posted May 8, 2014 Man that little puddle is great in a big north or south wind. A big east or big west is tough.
Baller RazorRoss3 Posted May 8, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted May 8, 2014 @6balls, it was fine when it had a little more south in it, ran really smooth passes and I've been working on a new pulling position that was kicking me 15 feet wide of the buoys at 22 off. The problem came second set when it shifted to ESE instead of SSE, once that happened we were fighting the full force of the 20 mph wind down the lake at us. I still ran my passes but some of the other skiers weren't quite as committed to the cause.
