The number of diagnosis codes in ICD-9 is plenty...the number of codes in I(CD-10 is ridiculous. This will significantly complicate healthcare and also create significant inefficiencies that do not change in meaningful fashion the quality or cost of care being delivered. It must have been wicked fun putting these together and quenching their hunger with pizza. In my engineering world, we have equipment failure codes, but learned decades ago that fewer and simpler and people will actually use them. Go figure.
