I've been thinking about for a while, just for fun and just to remind us that we "once were warriors". What would the rules be, timber ski's pre 1980, adjustable bindings, speed control allowed? or hand or foot throttle and stop watches? Should the boats be old as well? The course should be all out of whack from one pass to the next as the bouys shift about..

I've seen a few old woodies on Ebay, just need to find a few brave skiers and a working Super 8 ...

No use thinking about it!!!!!!!!!

Fred Williams ski ace 1961; My Fathers New Comp and Mum's Comp. They have flat undersides and are damn slippery.

Ski boat, built from 59 and think it was running by 1960.

I have often had the same idea. But, was only thinking maybe pre-1990's skis only. Maybe a tourny where all skis must be about 25 years or older. I would use my Mastercraft LaPoint asymmetrical ski, or Connelly Shortline. I think the Connelly Attack my not qualify as old enough.

But, old wood skis would be bad ass. Drinking my be required.

I tried to start a wooden ski league thing a few years ago. Could not get anyone interested.

Still love the t-shirt.

I've often thought it would be great to have a social ski comp where everyone uses the same stock combo ski... Though I haven't been brave enough to try one through the course yet.

Also a practice run on the combo would be cheating and not in the spirit of the game, so you'd have to be careful in selecting your opening speed.
