Here is a shot of the site of the 2014 Eastern Region Water Ski Championships, on Mirror Lake, in downtown Lake Placid, NY, located within the High Peaks Region of the Adirondack Mountains. Lake Placid is a major, four season, destination resort community, and was the site of the 10932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. The event is centered in a public park in the Main Street shopping district. By local law, Mirror Lake has no motor boat traffic other than for special events. A special wake attenuation system will be employed to replicate as nearly as possible a private ski lake experience in a highly public setting. Watch for more information at http://www.awsaeast.org/ Mirror Lake last hosted the Regionals in 1974 and was the site of the 1952 Nationals.

1. The park is marked by the lower push pin.

2. The wake attenuation system is a trade secret (that's code for "work in progress"). But we'll let everyone know what it is and how well it works once we have the bugs worked out. We have a little ice interfering with R & D right now!
