Baller RichardDoane Posted January 10, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted January 10, 2014 In a hutshell, skiers with a score of 6 @ -39 have a protected time frame to send in an entry, after that it's open to everyone else who is eligible.

Members jcamp
Why five fewer skiers this year?
Baller RichardDoane Posted January 10, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted January 10, 2014 we'll actually take 45 at our stop, so the 40 limit's a typo, as is the "open towboat" BTW - oops....
Baller schroed Posted January 10, 2014 Baller Share Posted January 10, 2014 Why didn't they just base it off USA Waterski national rankings or equivalent IWSF scores? It seems rather arbitrary to set the line at 6@39. In other words, for the protected time period, let anyone sign up and sort everyone from their rankings. If more than 45 people sign up, then the people with the lowest averages are placed on the waiting list. After the protected time period people are placed on the waiting list in order of their entries received. That would seem to make more sense to me. Baller RichardDoane Posted January 10, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted January 10, 2014 @schroed - I'm not sure where the 6 @ -39 score came from, that's above my pay grade, but skiers can send a paper entry/waiver/check now and we'll put in order according to postmark, and March 1st those names get on the entry list. USA Waterski has yet to get back to me about when the online registration will be live.

John Brooks
Sounds like a case of certain folks wanting to ski in the event in the past, they were too late submitting their entries, so they were left out.
Baller RichardDoane Posted January 13, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted January 13, 2014 that's correct, last season's US events sold out online in about an hour, so this year they've made a change giving the top echelon skiers an early sign up window of opportunity, then the frenzy of entries March 1st. Baller RichardDoane Posted January 18, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted January 18, 2014 bump, we have received 13 entries so far, but only 2 are from the protected group, expecting a sell out so don't wait to send in an entry if you're wanting to ski the Big Dawg Broho stop in July
