Baller Bbrandau Posted January 7, 2014 Baller Share Posted January 7, 2014 skicaraibes.com/ Has anyone been here? I am looking for a place to keep the boss happy but also get a good head start on my season. Interested in site conditions and level of coaching ... Thanks! Baller colo_skier Posted January 7, 2014 Baller Share Posted January 7, 2014 Saw something on a site in the Caribbean here on BOS some years ago. Not sure if this was it but from what was posted it was not really serious skiing. I have heard good things about the club med in Cancun from the point of view of getting some skiing in while on vacation. Also @pq2 lives there and has 3 courses set up in the lagoon and is a great guy who loves to ski.
desmonipoux
a great place to ski very professional, perfect water conditions. ask for Laurent or Brigitte. Excellent coach and so friendly, David is there too. Cancun is fine too but if you go to club med, you will be disappointed with the ski at club med. Ask Scott from waterskicancun to make you ski, he is great. Nicolas
Baller evolski Posted January 9, 2014 Baller Share Posted January 9, 2014 Ski Caraibes is in a cove - brackish water - and shallow, but when I was there several years ago, it was a good time. It's pretty well protected, and the Island has some really good restaurants and cool beaches. Cancun as @desmonipoux says is another place. Scott would be the guy to hook up with and there a numerous options for staying, including all inclusive. St Martin - European Flair. Cancun - Wild and Crazy. Fun at both. Baller Golfguy Posted January 10, 2014 Baller Share Posted January 10, 2014 Have skied there several times, a very good site. Laurent or Brigitte were always there and good people. St. Marin, French side is killer.
Patmaster
If you want to train slalom seriously and still hit the beach - St Martin is your place. If your budget is very flexible, go to Samanna resort that has one of the nicest beaches in the Caribbean. It's just a 10 minute drive from the ski place. Avoid hotel Mercure where the meeting point is. For longer stays, they say it's best to rent a villa. Been there end November 2013. Some great restaurants on the French side!
