Baller jayski Posted November 28, 2013 Baller Share Posted November 28, 2013 Been quiet the last couple years but great to see Glen back in the mix! One of the nicest guys you could meet, very pumped to see him ride the G5 into the finals!
Baller MattP Posted November 28, 2013 Baller Share Posted November 28, 2013 I agree @jayski he is a great guy. He has been recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon for a number of years.
Members Inboardfix
Drew is really fired up about the G5 and so are the guys at O'brien. My guess is Glen is pretty fired up about the G5 too.

Baller Zman Posted November 30, 2013 Baller Share Posted November 30, 2013 @MattP What other injuries did Glen have that caused him to not compete for so long? Or, was he out for other reasons? Was it a ski injury?

Members SkiJay
Glen did get injured, but he healed and stayed away because he his life outside of water skiing is significantly more lucrative than his life in water skiing. It's nice to see him back!

Baller MISkier Posted December 1, 2013 Baller Share Posted December 1, 2013 @skidawg, if Cale is using the same ski as this summer, he called it "Frankenski". I skied with him in August and he was experimenting with some new modifications to it - a cut and expansion here, a cut and narrowing there, etc. I don't know anything about ski construction or materials science, but that ski looked really gnarly (hence the "Frankenski" name). There must be some good science in carbon and epoxies to inspire enough confidence to mount some bindings to it and crank it into 41 off. I will say, though, he did ski very well on it when I saw it. 3 at 41 that day. The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
