Members SkiJay
This is to see if there is a connection between which foot forward we ski and which elbow hurts more or the most often.
Ed_Obermeier
But I also have a bass ackwards grip, meaning I'm LFF with my left hand palm up. If that makes a difference.
Baller ral Posted November 27, 2013 Baller Share Posted November 27, 2013 Palm up elbow is the one that hurts. That is why your left one does, and why one of the recommended practices is to waterstart with both palms down...
Baller ral Posted November 27, 2013 Baller Share Posted November 27, 2013 @Horton, I am do not want to know what you do with your other hand...
Ed_Obermeier
@ral I do start with both palms down then switch once up, have for several years in fact. Appreciate the pointer though. Think maybe the poll should have been more along that line, "...which elbow bothers you most, palm up or palm down?"
Members SkiJay
before the pull out and after the exit gate, I'm both palms down for the sake of my palm-up elbow.
Members ThePantsManCan
I agree with SkiJay, but I do it less. I'm palms down for the deepwater start, but after I am up I will switch to my regular grip.
Baller thager Posted November 27, 2013 Baller Share Posted November 27, 2013 The one in my ribs hurts most.
Baller RichardDoane Posted November 27, 2013 Baller Share Posted November 27, 2013 bent handle, and bikram yoga, elbows don't hurt anymore
Texas6
Bent handle, both palms down in deep water starts, don't hold on to big slack hits, lots of pull-ups, full elbow recovery for me
John Brooks
Glad to say my elbows are fully recovered. Couple years ago both hurt. Now, daily use of the flexbar, year around, no more issues. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Baller 9400 Posted November 27, 2013 Baller Share Posted November 27, 2013 I had some serious elbow pain many years ago and I can't fully straighten my right elbow these days. I get elbow pain from time to time...could be either elbow. But what I have found is that the cleaner and more fluid I ski, the less trouble I have with my elbows, back, knees. I think of body pain as a reminder to work on being smooth. (I still have plenty of work to do on being smooth). The funny thing is that all the same things that I work on to not abuse my body also seems to help my scores.
Waternut
I pull my right arm in on my offside which causes the pain. Video really helps analyze stupid stuff. I had much less problems this year after using the flexbar and also using better form.
Baller waterskicorey Posted December 1, 2013 Baller Share Posted December 1, 2013 Both of my elbows have bothered me in the past, they are fine right now. I find if I have the handle snapped out of my hand, my forearms tighten up and one of my elbows start to bother me
Dusty
Actually- I'll change my vote- the one which has most recently impacted something 'unyielding'- car, wall, boat trailer, top of ski etc., hurts the most...
