I'll have the boat just after the first of the year and it will pull the California High Desert Tournament circuit in Newberry Springs. I'll be able to let it go right after the 2014 Nationals. Don't miss your chance to make your selections, you have until Nov. 29, 2014 to make any changes or add factory installed options. After the lock date, optional equipment will be dealer installed. Baller Chuck_Dickey Posted December 19, 2013 Author Baller Share Posted December 19, 2013 Just booked my trip to Vonore, TN. next month to see production of my new ProStar 2014. I’ll be leaving Jan. 8 and be in the plant for MasterCraft's 5 Star Tour and watch production of my boat, and other models, on the Jan. 9th and back on the 10th to watch them finish up my boat. It is scheduled for compleation Jan. 13 and will be shipped shortly there after. I should see it in Lake Elsinore at California Skier near the end of the month. Very excited to take it to the lake. Baller Chuck_Dickey Posted December 21, 2013 Author Baller Share Posted December 21, 2013 Link @Andre I went with a combo of Fire Red metal flake and Silver metal flake with a Midnite Black accent stripe. The interior is Carbon Platinum and Viper Red with Midnite Black logos and Welting. Check out the link above to see the pictures I generated from the MC build software. Baller ForrestGump Posted January 11, 2014 Baller Share Posted January 11, 2014 @Kelvin No, that's not necessarily correct. I think you misunderstood. MC took the people who were not truly active as promo owners and gave them emeritus status, making room to bring in new active promo members. Active Promos are still yearly. But someone who is Emeritus status, will be allowed to buy a Promo once every 3 years. In South Texas, two were given Emeritus, Jerry stayed active, they added us. The emeritus owner's boats wouldn't normally be used at tournaments.

Baller 6balls Posted January 13, 2014 Baller Share Posted January 13, 2014 Looked one over this weekend at Midwest Mastercraft. Really game changing interior. Those ski racks open up the floor space negating the need for the trunk. Combined with pushing windshield forward the floor space is amazing even with skis in the racks. Rudder assembly, gas tank/fuel pump/battery with super easy access. Drain plug NOT under the motor...wow...how nice. Reclining driver's seat, then unique fold flat center observers seat, the bow cover, the windshield mounted bimini, the removable/storable yet sturdy tower are all fantastic. Built in winch straps on the rear of the trailer, a factory tapered rudder, super high quality upholstery, snap in carpet, the split rear seat...and oh...did I mention those ski racks??? Hard to imagine skiing without that pile of skis n crap behind the drivers seat on the floor...but I can dig it. There could be two skis in the starboard rack and you could still easily walk between them and the motor box, between the motor box and the driver's seat, and climb into the driver's seat. Remarkable effort in sensible, long-overdue interior and functional design in a dedicated ski boat. If it only skis as well as the others...I think it's won. Hmm...where did I set my Nautique Kool-Aid??
Baller Chuck_Dickey Posted January 16, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted January 16, 2014 I was back at the MasterCraft plant last week for their 5 Star VIP tour and to watch my new ProStar coming down the assembly line. I5boi
Has anyone had an issue with the frame of the windshield blocking your field of vision? My wife noticed this while sitting in the new PS. She did not have this issue when sitting in the 200. I didn't sit in either of them at the boat show because she drives and I ski ha.
Baller Chuck_Dickey Posted January 16, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted January 16, 2014 I didn't see any visibility issues at all. Very low flat dash. Adjustable seat let you look through or over the frame of the windshield. Tilt the steering wheel to normal position and you're good. Pics from two other PS coming down the line. Baller Chuck_Dickey Posted January 26, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted January 26, 2014 My new ProStar has arrived and I wanted to share some thoughts stemming from my trip to tour the MasterCraft factory. as well as some of my pictures of my boat going down the assembly line, it's arrival in So. Cal and my first day on the water. MasterCraft - Vonore, TN I recently spent two days touring the MasterCraft Boats factory In Vonore, TN. and I must say I am very impressed. For 30 years I've been making my living visiting factories of all kinds as a product and design specialist troubleshooting systems to help improve processes, so I see all kinds of production facilities. I can easily say that the MasterCraft plant makes the top five I've ever seen. Max Tawney, their Customer Relations Coordinator gave me the Five Star Tour from mold polishing all the way through to lake testing. Every MasterCraft built is lake tested to put it through its paces for at least one hour before it's polished up for final packaging and shipping. I met with design engineers, Navel Architecture Engineers, Software Engineers, QA inspectors, Production Managers, I think in total they have at least 25 engineers on staff. Every step of manufacturing and assembly there are QA staff standing by to check off before allowing the boat to proceed to the next step. Most all of their process is based on "Just in time" delivery of parts "Kits" to the assembly line to make sure everything is ready and waiting to be installed and nothing is stock piled or in the way. This really keeps the place CLEAN and uncluttered. I've seen food processing plants that are not as clean as this production floor. This "Kit" system is especially important since every boat coming down the line is customized in some way, like interiors, stereos, ballasts, gelcoat combo. Even the sheets of fiber glass are pre-cut and patterned in "Kits" for each model hull, this minimizes waste and maximizes hull strength, fit and finish. Once the hull, stringer and deck sections are extracted from the molds, the mold go through a stringent inspection and polishing phase before they are used for the next boat. Cleaning, waxing, inspecting, buffing, etc. Then after the fourth boat molding they are sent out to the mold reconditioning department (on-site) to be renewed. Interior vinyls are laid out and cut on laser guided, CAD assisted cutting tables that cut each piece exactly the same size every time, which is great if you ever need new skins you'll know they'll fit perfectly. Most of the vinyl is new this year, better colors, better resistance to mold and UV from the sun, even the thread they use is a newer high strength UV resistant version. There were a number of reasons for my tour, most important was to observe production of my new ProStar! Man what a beautiful boat! I would liken the experience to waiting for my first born child to be delivered to my arms! My wife kept most of that production to herself on that one! It has been terrific to watch all the bits and pieces come together to make this finished beauty ready for the water. I wish I had a time laps video of the process to share but I will post the pictures I took as soon as I figure out how to get this many shots onto BOS. My second reason to come to the plant was to meet with Aarne Clow, their Team & Event Manager, I have just joined their Promo Team and needed to learn how the whole program comes together. This new boat will pull most if not all the So. Cal high desert tournaments this season. I will also be setting up a number of Demo days so interested folks can come ski and drive this new dream boat. I'll post details as soon as they become available. In closing I will say, I have been under the hood of a number of boats and MC's construction materials are superior, their construction methods are second to none and their attention to detail is the best I've seen. MasterCraft Boats is a first class company all the way through. First Day on the lake Ok, first day at the lake went very well! I invited a couple friends and my daughter to drive and ski my new ProStar. The ZO integration into the touch screen is AWESOME. Using the touch screen was much easier to set up and map the course as well as adjust everything else connected to it. There are all sorts of options which once installed come under its control. The whole system can also be controlled via push buttons along the vertical edges of the touch screen. One of my buddies skied 22 and 28 off at 34mph and the 22 bump was lower than any boat I've ever seen. My daughter tried the trick wake and was very impressed with its shape and table. She skied at 16, 17 and 18 mph and in her opinion and my view, it skis better than the MC PS197. She ran through her trick run without missing a trick. The Ilmor MV8 5.7L motor is very strong, more so than the Indmar in my 2011 PS197WTT. More power and just as smooth and quiet. The dash pod is very low and invisible to the drivers sight line. The throttle control is smooth and very well positioned. The adjustable seat back and comfort of the drivers seat are terrific! I'm told Will Bush worked hard on the drivers seat comfort, throttle and helm controls, they are all better than anything I've driven. The adjustable seat back is a wonderful innovation! The boat tracks extremely well, much better than my 2011 PS197WTT. This new boat is a dream to drive and ski. Chuck Dickey
