coxjon
Looking at getting my first suit to get me through the winter, any recommendations? I've seen the oneil hybrids but not sure if they will see through the whole winter. Also just been recommended the Eagle dry suit.
Baller Gloersen Posted November 5, 2013 Baller Share Posted November 5, 2013 Eagle front-zip drysuit quite good.
Baller 6balls Posted November 6, 2013 Baller Share Posted November 6, 2013 Eagle front zip, oneill boost. Never stayed dry for long in any of the hybrids i've owned...too bad love the fit of the hybrid and I believe they have less drag both in water and air. Baller RichardDoane Posted November 6, 2013 Baller Share Posted November 6, 2013 my oneill hybrid is fine for one set a day, but gets wet enough that it's cold to hang out in, I'll be using the baggy now until the end of April, OfficerFriendly has an Eagle front zip, very nicely made and light weight/flexible
Baller rawly Posted November 6, 2013 Baller Share Posted November 6, 2013 Another vote for the eagle if you can afford it. Barely even know you have the suit on. With a wetsuit or hybrid you get cold when you change back into your clothes.
ski6
Oneil hybrid. I have used mine in under 50 degree water and been fine. The best thing is to wear a jersey or jacket under your dry suit. I tend to find that even with straps, the baggy drysuit's seem to catch on the water the whole time. I have had 2 Oneil hybrid's and both after 2 years started leaking. bogboy
My best dry suit so far is the simple "adrenalin" baggy, with a one piece poly flannel liner from seattle watersports. Wearing a thin long sleeve top under the liner also works for me.
Baller Garn Posted November 6, 2013 Baller Share Posted November 6, 2013 Another vote for the Adrenaline baggy. Mine is 7 years old and looks like new. I've never had to replace the seals or anything.
Jim Neely
I have an eagle drysuit. The front zipper is great, the fit is great, just doesn't keep me dry. I was dry the first season I had it. The second season the seams started leaking. Now (third season) it's close to useless. Ankle, wrist and neck seals work fine. Same thing happened to another skier who bought hers right before I bought mine. Eagle doesn't have a warranty on the seams. I'm looking to purchase an Adrenaline (3 year warranty on seams) or OS Systems (2 year warranty on seams).
coxjon
just been speaking to an Oneil Guru and he said alot of people are now skiing in a Oneill Wetsuits Psycho 3 Zen Zip SSW 5/3mm all year round (i was quite suprised).
