Gold Member Than_Bogan Posted August 7, 2013 Gold Member Share Posted August 7, 2013 I'd love to know how it can be nothing like what we heard, seeing as we heard pretty much every possibility from somebody! Fingers crossed on the smallness. If this thing has a great slalom wake, including at slow speed, and can fit through our mousehole tunnel, there's a fair chance it could be my next boat. DooSPX
@Than_Bogan, the picture of it under cover looks like a 19' DD X10. it doesn't look any larger then a CP to tell you the truth.
Baller skibug Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 let me guess, it is about 20' long and about 7' 10" across with a prop and rudder.....i bet it has one of those steering wheel things as well and a as well....or does it have a rudder stick? Baller_ MISkier Posted August 7, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted August 7, 2013 @skibug, touch screen steering. It's the latest thing. Makes pressuring, countering, blocking a whole new challenge. The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
Baller estrom Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 It's a 4 cylinder, twin turbo I/O with trolling motor mounted up front? Just trying to think of what we haven't heard.

Baller swc5150 Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 Looks like an offset dash pod like the 200. These can't be the only pics they're releasing today?!

Gold Member Than_Bogan Posted August 7, 2013 Gold Member Share Posted August 7, 2013 Yep, that looks like a boat all right. I wanna see the spec sheet first (like RIGHT NOW please!), and then I want to hear about wakes and drivability. After that, I might start to care what it looks like. Baller east tx skier Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 Not a bad looking boat. Even if I have to stomach the cocktail pickle fork on the nose. 20' 5" from what I understand and, from the video a lot of channeling going on with the hull design. She may ski like a dream, but how will the fuel consumption be? Perhaps the 200 made it okay to add a little more drag to the equation.
Baller swc5150 Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 I mentioned on TT that I didn't agree with the FB unveil, when you have an active MC buyer file right there on TT, but whatever. Now I'm getting a little annoyed how they're giving these nuggets piece meal. Specs and wake pics would really be nice, as that's what those who buy 3 event boats care about first. When they unveiled their latest wake boat a few weeks ago, they splashed the site with pics of the tidal wave it produces.

Baller_ Wish Posted August 7, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted August 7, 2013 @Skoot1123 I was glancing at your post from my phone (knowing your pic with your child behind the wheel) and had to do a double take to catch the word "car". Its a good looking boat and all but........ glad I went back to read it.
Baller Skoot1123 Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 @wish - LOL! It will be interesting to hear what the skier's say. I'm sure the feedback will be fast and furious in the next coming months. I for one am NOT a pickle fork fan. But this particular one I don't mind. Not sure if it was because of the hard cover or not. Also seems like one of the pictures of the "helm" - I didn't see any carpet. Wonder if there is no carpet or if there is some other type of flooring. Can't wait to see more of the reveal!
Baller thager Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 @Skoot1123 @ Horton told me it had Linoleum flooring. : )
Baller ForrestGump Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 @skoot1123 Even existing 2013 pro stars don't have carpet in the driver area. MC puts a gell coated pan there. You don't get dirty carpet where your feet sit and any water drains right out.
Gold Member Than_Bogan Posted August 7, 2013 Gold Member Share Posted August 7, 2013 Just announced to be 5" wider. @Than_Bogan, @Chef23, @rayn, @MikeT: We're done here. Sooo, what's Centurion doing for 2014? :)
Baller ral Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 I have had only Nautiques since we opened the lake. Love them. If this one is smaller, with a similar wake and cheaper, I will get one as our next boat.
Baller Chef23 Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 @Than_Bogan that would make it 95" just like the Nautique 200. Not going to work for our lake unless it sits very low to the water. It could make 197s less expensive.
Baller ForrestGump Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 It's actually 96". A 197 was 91" beam.
Baller Chef23 Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 At 96" it is huge. We may never have a new ski boat on our lake again.
Baller ral Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 @Than_Bogan, why done? @Chef23, why 95" would not work for you? Not trying to tease, maybe I am a little slow due to cold but I do not get it.

Baller MickeyThompson Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 MC told a dealer yesterday the new boat used 30% less fuel than a competitors boat.
Baller ral Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 30% less fuel sounds a bit optimistic, given the size...
DooSPX
the boat may be 400 pounds lighter and the running surface does look like it adds a ton of lift, still 30% seems like a lot. 15% sure, 20% could be...
Baller ForrestGump Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 Well, when the 200 increased fuel usage 38% over the 196, 30% less than it might not be off the mark.
Baller webbdawg99 Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 I would like to know 0-36 times (and/or distance) on this new boat, the current 197, the 200, and the Txi. Anyone have any of this info?
DooSPX
@ShaneH I did not realize the 200 was 38% over the 196. That makes that statement much more plausible. Thanks for the info.
Baller_ Wish Posted August 7, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted August 7, 2013 Holly sheep dip....3300 pounds. That's k more then my 196. So much for better fuel economy. Or the 200 is just that bad.
Baller ForrestGump Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 @Wish I'm not sure where they got 3300 from. I don't believe that's dry weight of a base boat. Dry weight of a base boat was around 2500 from what I was told. Dry weight of a 197 is 2850.
DooSPX
@ShaneH not sure, but it was posted on MC's FB page. I thought it was heavy too... Length: 20ft. Width: 96in. Weight: 3300lbs. Fully optioned. Fuel: 25gal.
Baller ral Posted August 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2013 @ShaneH, they are adding the beer slabs...
Baller_ MISkier Posted August 7, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted August 7, 2013 The extra weight is in the hips. That is where it starts. The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
Gold Member Than_Bogan Posted August 7, 2013 Gold Member Share Posted August 7, 2013 @ral: 91" is a fairly hard limit. 93" maybe if you're willing to be locked out whenever the water is a little high (which I'm not). 96" is completely out of the question -- probably only a few days each year that it COULD get through. (And yes, that's my sexy back.)
