Baller hacker Posted July 30, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2013 I imagine those who are attending nationals will be able to get a first look: mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=48697&page=
Baller ForrestGump Posted July 30, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2013 Mastercraft Pro Waterski Shootout in Calgary is scheduled for 8/8 and 8/9. An 8/7 date makes sense for a first look there. Dealers are being told December first ship date.

Joeprunc
That's exciting, hopefully the 197 prices will drop into my price range in the next year or so ;).
Baller_ The_MS Posted July 30, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted July 30, 2013 I am sure the new sticker price will go up. The 197 prices may stay high or go higher as a result. Look at the 196 prices now that the 200 is out of reach for most of the skiing world.
Baller alex38 Posted July 30, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2013 @MS an unfortunate but accurate point.
Baller ral Posted July 30, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2013 Will still need to put my 200 in trick mode and 34.6 MPH to train for tourneys behind the new MC???
Baller gregy Posted July 30, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2013 The 196 is one of the most desired slalom boats every. I don't think the 197 is a good comparison. The used 197's from what I've seen are one of the cheapest ways to get into a newer Zero Off boat. I doubt they'll go any lower though.
Baller swc5150 Posted July 31, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 31, 2013 I agree with@gregy. I'm also very excited to see the new PS. If half the rumors are true, it's gonna be sweet!!
Baller swc5150 Posted July 31, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 31, 2013 I'm curious to see the price increase as well. The 200 was a jump from the 196, however there was a lot more glass and vinyl involved. The 197 is already a fairly large open bow boat, so I don't see the amount of materials increasing much, if at all. Actually, the new PS may even be smaller? They also must be cautious not to price it out of the reach of the target market, so I can't see it costing more than a 200. Of course, I could be dead wrong. madcityskier
I'm told it will be available for practice rounds.
Baller MattP Posted July 31, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 31, 2013 @madcityskier I think CC holds the exclusive practice rights at Nats.
Baller Skoot1123 Posted July 31, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 31, 2013 From what I am told - it will be an amazing boat. Everyone I have talked to that knows about them, and helped develop the new boat, is super stoked about what it will do to the slalom market. Even though I won't be getting a new boat anytime soon, I can't wait to ski behind one whenever I go to my local MC dealer and get some lessons. Baller ForrestGump Posted July 31, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 31, 2013 A handful of mastercraft dealers who are also high end slalom skiers have now skied the new hull and claim it's a sweet wake. I've now seen a pic of the top deck and it's pretty sweet too.
Baller_ The_MS Posted July 31, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted July 31, 2013 The 197 already has a sweet wake for the high end skiers. The questions is, will it be good for the Jrs and long liners at slow speed. I hope so. It would be nice for them to not have to worry about what boat they are skiing behind. Baller Andre Posted July 31, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 31, 2013 Is a TXI better then a MC at lonline and 15... Never skied one. Hoping for side storage like the 200 for the new MC. My ski finish in 16.95 but my ass is out of tolerance!
Baller swc5150 Posted July 31, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 31, 2013 I'm anticipating a stellar wake from this hull. With strong competition from CC and Bu, they need to give buyers a big reason to switch brands.
Baller usaski1 Posted July 31, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 31, 2013 TXI is my favorite 15 off boat. the MC is in distant 4th place.. actually, my Moomba has better wakes at 15 off and below 30mph than the MC. I darn near land at the ball and have to do a massive Z turn on any MC. Here's to hoping the new MC can be competitive for us 15 offers. Having said that, Id rather ski the MC than not ski at all. Baller usaski1 Posted July 31, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 31, 2013 @Horton... starts at 23mph, and goes to 28.6 (all at 15 off) I think I kissed 2 ball one time in my life at 30mph... maybe.. but that was 15 years ago.. so it could be one of those rose colored glasses memories. We used to run the mini course at 36 mph, 39.5 off.
madcityskier
@mattp, just what I was told. @Andre, some side storage but different I was told. @usaski1, I've run behind a Super Air Nautique with 6 people and it's not what you're describing. Biased, or need to work on edging through the wakes?

Baller MattP Posted August 1, 2013 Baller Share Posted August 1, 2013 @madcityskier @usaski1 knows how to round buoys just a little different than most of us. but back on topic. The new MC has years of R&D and I can't wait to see what they put out.
