Baller The_MS Posted July 26, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 26, 2013 Anyone have a Goode Fin I can get cheap? I am hearing that people are drilling an extra hole in the fin and are having good success. If I dont like it, I need another fin to put in. Administrators Horton Posted July 26, 2013 Administrators Share Posted July 26, 2013 @MS what you need to do is drill a hole in your head. Administrators Horton Posted July 27, 2013 Administrators Share Posted July 27, 2013 @MS I spoke to my secret super smart fin guy (AKA "Deep Buoy") last night about this. He said the extra hole may increase slide on the way out to the ball line. In other words the tail of your ski can flow away from the wakes more effectively with less fin. The extra hole will increase drag but may feel faster because of the wider line your will be able to travel. You could get most of this effect with less depth but it is not exactly the same thing. As with every tweak there will be some trade-off. Baller mwetskier Posted July 29, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 29, 2013 AB, mapple told us he prefers 4 holes over the standard 5 but it might make a difference that those four holes are much closer to the edge than a standard 5 holer. i also think i remember the mapple holes being slightly bigger diameter.
