Baller Brady Posted July 24, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 24, 2013 I went skiing today with a couple of buddies that I used to free ski with. They didn't feel comfortable at the course, so we free skied. After I got done skiing, they started going on and on about how much better of a skier I was than when we went last. I smiled and said thank you. It felt really good to look back and see so much progress, even though I feel like I am creeping slowly along. They kept going on and on about it, and they started asking about how they could get better. Well, there was my in. I basically said that if someone really wants to get better, then they should start skiing the course, because it is a measurable tool to aid in your progression. I then said they should get on Ball of Spray, because it was a community of skiers who were there for each other to progress in their abilities. They said they are in on both accounts. In fact, one of my buddies owns a Air Nautique, and said he was putting in on the market today and was going to get a ski boat. Let's see, this week, I have converted my daughter and now my two buddies to course skiing, and have increased the membership to this site by 2 peeps. If we can all do this weekly, we might get this site big enough that Horton will finally pull his hair out! I love this site, I love you guys and I so much love skiing the balls!!!! bogboy
@Brady, I agree, both free skiing, and the course is a good thing, and the course is a measurable, and fun activity. Good luck!

Joeprunc
We took my long time river ski buddy through the course yesterday. We offered to pull him in the open water, but after seeing three of us run through the course, he was determined to give it a try. He is a great open water skier and I rarely see him crash, but yesterday he had 3 of the worst crashes I've ever seen. All trying to push his comfort zone to make it around a silly ball. We kept telling him to take it easy and shadow the balls, but his competitive nature took over. Needless to say he had a great time and can't wait to get back out and try it again. Baller Skoot1123 Posted July 25, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2013 @brady - "I basically said that if someone really wants to get better, then they should start skiing the course, because it is a measurable tool to aid in your progression." You are now officially getting your nerd on. Did you quote that from someone on here? AWESOME!!
Baller ForrestGump Posted July 25, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2013 Thank goodness you said 'skiing balls' instead of just 'I love balls.'
Baller Garn Posted July 25, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2013 When we went a few days ago @Brady, you looked better then when I last saw you just a few weeks earlier. So imagine the difference they saw in you. I went this afternoon with @Scot Chipman and Kelly. PERFECT CONDITIONS!! I almost ran 28 even with my strained hamstring. I'm really feeling my hamstring now though.
