Baller gregy Posted July 13, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 13, 2013 I think women's open is going to be very competitive in a few years. These girls are doing some amazing skiing with perfect form.
Baller Inboardfix Posted July 13, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 13, 2013 I'm confused. All 3 of the girls mentioned are in G2. Why wasn't Neilly involved in the run off?

Baller Inboardfix Posted July 14, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 14, 2013 thank you Pete. It surprises me a skier w/dual citizenship and a resident of the state of Florida isn't allowed to compete for the State Championship. Bummer, would have been cool to have a 3 way run off. Baller thager Posted July 14, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 14, 2013 Mom's USA. Born USA. Dad Canadian. Still doesn't make sense to me. Drew?
klindy
Drew's in MI at the Big Dawg...I thought the "competed for another federation at an international tournament" only applied to records?
woolly110
thats stupid. In moto if you race a state or national champs you can come from anywhere not just that state/country.
Baller SkiJay Posted July 14, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 14, 2013 Both Daughter and Dad had a great day today. Drew is top seed for tomorrow's Big Dawg.
Baller Phil Posted July 14, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 14, 2013 I used to work an compete in the Fl State Championships for many years when I had a green card, which meant I met all of the criteria for qualifying to ski, all of a sudden they moved the goal posts a few years ago saying that if you skied for your country out side of the US then FL would not let you place in the State Championships and you ski it only as a record tournament, I am now a dual citizen and lived here 18 yrs and still cannot place, I understand it for Regionals and Nationals but States?? some regions run it as a class C so the whole thing is BS, to cap it all then they took us off the USA Ranking List several years ago!! Baller andjules Posted July 15, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 15, 2013 Fl is a different state. The best international skiers make their home there. The idea behind the rules makes sense (Fl state championships would feel like a world championship). But there will be a lot of exceptions - like this one - that don't quite make sense. I met and skied against Drew when we were about Neilly's age. I'm sure he'd be proud to admit that she's about a zillion passes ahead of where we were at that age. Baller thager Posted July 15, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 15, 2013 On the positive side when Canada wins the worlds again, the US does too. Except in Florida if your name is Chad.
