Members fizer
Debating about giving the interloc a go. If I change my mind, how had is it to remove the interloc? Is it going to rip the clearcoat / graphic off of my ski? Would appreciate perspective from anyone that has done this.
Baller jackski Posted July 9, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 9, 2013 Black or clear ? The clear is pretty easy, the top "hard" layer separates and peels off the stickum below. Then just a little ribbing with the thumb peels the remainder on the ski. The black is a whole different animal. The bottom stickum layer is easiest to stip with lacquer thinner, but you can't use that on top of Goode skies. I don't know about others.
jrs
Go to Lowe's where they sell paint thinner and buy Lift Off by Motsenbocker. I soak the leftover foam/adhesive with Lift Off and let it set overnight. Then, you can just push it off with a plastic paint scraper. Clean the surface with alcohol before placing down anything new. This process works fine on Goode skis.
Baller jcamp Posted July 9, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 9, 2013 I've used 3M adhesive remover (make sure to get citrus based) and it, even the black, comes off easily.
Baller A_B Posted July 9, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 9, 2013 I let GooGone soak in the sun for a couple hours, them scraper it off. Clean up with denatured alcohol. Just did a ski and plate last week. Hard to find the sun though.
Chuck_Dickey
Mineral Spirits works well and usually will not harm graphics. Older Goode's had spray coated bottoms, you wnat to keep any solvents awy from the bottoms of older Goode's
