mikey
I'll be in CO Springs on vacation, first week in July. Any place there to grab a set or two and maybe a ski lesson?
Baller skinut Posted June 6, 2013 Baller Share Posted June 6, 2013 I don't think there are any ski lakes close by. If you go North of Denver there are several lakes. My guess is you at least 1.5-2 hours from a ski lake. You might want to look a Laku Landing, http://lakulanding.com/ If you look at google earth and download the ski sites directory there are 4 or 5 lakes North of Denver. Baller Marco Posted June 6, 2013 Baller Share Posted June 6, 2013 Soda lakes is on the southwest side of Denver, where hwy 285 intersects C470 near Morrison. They are a pay per set lake that takes reservations. Not sure if they offer coaching though.
swardco
I don't have any personal experience, but this place is SW Denver, probably 45 mins from the Springs, depending on where you are and of course on traffic. I think you can buy a pull and I think they do lessons. http://skisoda.com/
Baller colo_skier Posted June 6, 2013 Baller Share Posted June 6, 2013 @mikey, I live in Black Forest just North of the COS. I can get you set up with sets with me down in Pueblo at the Lake I belong to. Its about 40 minutes from downtown COS. Let me know and we can set something up. Soda lakes and Lake Colorado are both owned by Tommy from Tommys slalom shop.
Baller skinut Posted June 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted June 7, 2013 @colo_skier my sister lives in Black Forest. She is off of Hodgen road close to highway 83.
Baller colo_skier Posted June 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted June 7, 2013 She is about 5 miles from our house. You should plan on getting some skiing in while here. Early mornings before 11 are the most predictable weather wise.
Baller Drago Posted June 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted June 7, 2013 Corrections: Tommy sold Tommy's. he sponsored Soda Lake Ski School, but did not own it.
Baller colo_skier Posted June 7, 2013 Baller Share Posted June 7, 2013 @Drago Sorry I didn't know the Soda lake situation and yeah I know he retired from the business but thought most people in our sport know or have heard of Tommy. Just wanted to let skinut understand who owns the lake we ski at.
Baller Drago Posted June 8, 2013 Baller Share Posted June 8, 2013 Just pointing that out. You might see more of him in person now, getting those fish out of your way;)
