How important is dry land training?

I answered important because I finally changed my grip - going from right palm up to left palm up and I'm RFF. I dry dock trained 3-4 times a week in between workout sets. The transition of grip was absolutely huge for my offside turn and pull. I'm convinced that without the dry dock training I would have ended up with a abbreviated trial run with a return back to right palm up. So, for this season it was important - if not for that needed change I would say it wasn't important.

@Horton, just landing in Miami after an 8 hour flight, and still have to go to JFK on my way to Helsinki, so poor reading performance, just read the title. Need to change my answer to NO, I do not lean on a rope as an important part of my training...
