Baller Fine409 Posted February 26, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 26, 2013 In a month or so, that could be realistic! :)
Baller RazorRoss3 Posted February 26, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 26, 2013 There won't be anywhere skiable in MN until early April on a warm year.
Baller 6balls Posted February 26, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 26, 2013 @razorross3 it's possible in the right year for late march. I've got video of your old man, myself and Nelson barefooting at your place March 25th while it snowed. Whole lake was open.
Baller Nando Posted February 26, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 26, 2013 Reminds me of the first course I surveyed in through the ice (in MN in mid-March)- we went out early in the morning and by the time we finished all the surveying, augering, and dropping the anchors (with subfloats) in and checking the measurements, it was mid-afternoon and there was about 20' of open water between us and shore. It was neck deep and I had to hold the theodolite over my head to keep it dry. Not just shrinkage, but full retraction! Good thing there was no wind- it was R accurate when we measured it after installing the buoys.
Baller Brady Posted February 26, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 26, 2013 Damn, I should have been your guys brother! I am looking at another couple of months as well. Here is the front of my house this evening....guessing about 3 feet deep still.
Baller The_MS Posted February 26, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 26, 2013 We skied on March 12th and had the boat on the lift Mar 18 last year. We will be lucky to be in the water by last week of March this year. I would bet we have 2-3 feet of ice with a pretty good snow cover.
Baller Fine409 Posted February 26, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 26, 2013 March 24th was the first ski for me last year on Lake Sarah. Hopefully we get a wet spring to bring the lake levels back up to normal.

WBLskier
Skied march 21st last year on white bear lake. Not expecting to get to do that again for a while. Usually first or second week in April before the ice is out.
Baller Razorskier1 Posted February 26, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 26, 2013 I'm glad for the snow cover. Will hopefully keep the weeds down a bit this spring -- last year sucked for weeds!
