Baller Razorskier1 Posted February 6, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 6, 2013 I have a 48 foot roll in (Daka) dock. Planning to upgrade to aluminum. If anyone in MN had a use for it and wanted it, I'd probably give it away if you will take it away. It is in good shape and will work for years and years. I'm just old enough that I don't want to fight with rolling steel in and out every year. I have wood pallets, but they are getting close to needing to be replaced. Let me know if interested. GAJ0004
We have two hewitt roll-a-docks. We pull ours out with an electric winch(same kind you could attach to the front of a Jeep). Our shore has a 3 foot high rock wall, so we use the aluminum ramps that you would use to load a quad ATV into a pickup truck as a ramp. We bolt wheels on the shore end, and the docks come out with a push of a button. The bolt on shore-end wheels make it a snap to put them back in. My dad has a John Deere riding mower and a small flatbed utility trailer. We bolt the winch on to the trailer, and hook it up to the tractor battery. Just chock the wheels, and the rest is easy. Our docks are 32 feet long each.. A 3500lb capacity winch can easily pull it...
xrated
Can you even give steel away? Major pain but the dang things just don't break...we've tried a few times and it is always just a quick weld or new bolt away from good again. What are you replacing with? Baller 6balls Posted February 9, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 9, 2013 Steel is nice to walk on once it's in...SO solid. I have a nice aluminum with extra posts, and I use C-clamps to attach it to my lift to make it even sturdier...but my neighbors steel still feels more solid and wobble free underfoot. Mine feels solid as a rock til I'm on his dock. His kinda sucks for in/out, though, whereas mine is pretty easy.
Baller The_MS Posted February 9, 2013 Baller Share Posted February 9, 2013 You could get the recycle guy to come pick it up and lay some cash on you. I am selling my Hewitt Roll-A-Rail boat lift if any one needs one.
bobbulfer
Where is the dock located at? I'm down in the Northfield area and would possibly be interested.
