dancin4
Question: where is the best place for a nibral Acme 515 prop. It does not have a large ding it just a tip touch on one blade. Our local repair place has changed ownership and quality not as it used to be. Anyone use Delta Propeller? Good or bad?
Baller Ed_Obermeier Posted January 29, 2013 Baller Share Posted January 29, 2013 www.midwestpropeller.com one of the best in the country and very reasonably priced.
Baller ForrestGump Posted January 29, 2013 Baller Share Posted January 29, 2013 Send it back to Acme. Call and ask for Bill Weeks. The secret to working an acme is having the correct bucks. A lot of places don't have the right buck for the acme's. Acme charges $125 to rework one of their props.
GAJ0004
I sent mine back to the manufacturer. I had mine repaired during the off season. I think I had it back in 3 weeks. I have an OJ Legend which is the original prop on my boat.

Baller Andy Posted January 30, 2013 Baller Share Posted January 30, 2013 Have your dealer send it back. When it comes back to him, unbox it there and inspect it with him. I got one back this past summer that had a ding in it. Dealer closed box and took care of it no questions asked and no hassle.
Baller DW Posted January 31, 2013 Baller Share Posted January 31, 2013 It kind of depends on how handy you are. Nibral props are fairly easy to repair yourself if you have some tools and are able to make a buck from one of the other blades. Nibral is pretty easy to work, unlike stainless. If you are going to ship, I would certainly recommend straight to Acme since they have all the fixtures right onsite.
