Administrators Horton Posted November 25, 2012 Administrators Share Posted November 25, 2012 This is not the best skiing of my life (this video does not really make me happy but it is November 24th). Camaro wet suits ROCK! Baller 6balls Posted November 25, 2012 Baller Share Posted November 25, 2012 @horton, your skiing looks fine to me. If you took video of 10 sets for me, one of 'em would look like I wanted it to. Classic line from my bro after watching me at 35 is "I didn't see anything I liked there" as he shortens me to 38. Strangely sometimes my best 38's are after a sub-par, scrambly 35. I'm envious, our lake was glass "ice" this a.m.
Baller thager Posted November 25, 2012 Baller Share Posted November 25, 2012 I'm envious also. Lake is open. Boat is in shed. Snowmobile runs fine though!!
bogboy
Great skiing Horton, looks like that new camaro suit is pretty high tech. I'm making do with my old baggy so far this winter.

Chuck_Dickey
Looks good John. What size is your suit and how does the size compare to other brands? Was that the One you were on? How is it in colder water?
Administrators Horton Posted November 26, 2012 Author Administrators Share Posted November 26, 2012 @Chuck_Dickey I am in the Xl suit. Trying to get smaller but you know how that goes. (two jobs and such) As for the N1 yes it feels fine in the cold. I might think about less tip or bindings back in colder water but I am riding it the same as this summer. I think this ski likes the cold or in the same way it is fits a lot of skier weights it also fits a wide range of temps. Chuck_Dickey
@Horton I asked Volker and he said the Black Tec 2.0 is due out in April. Surprises me that they would release an extra warm suit as the water is getting warmer. Why not in the fall when things are cooling off, might even sell a few! Baller RazorRoss3 Posted November 26, 2012 Baller Share Posted November 26, 2012 even if it wasn't freezing outside the Iowa boats have been winterized for nearly two months now. Starting to regret not looking into southern schools when I was applying to colleges two years ago.

Baller BraceMaker Posted November 28, 2012 Baller Share Posted November 28, 2012 I suspect he flipped the mount to move the mirror above the window, and that his mount may not swivel.
Baller 19skier Posted November 28, 2012 Baller Share Posted November 28, 2012 More than a mirror upside down in that pic - can't expect things to be right on a November ski boat.
jsta281
Checking in from Utah, we could definately still be skiing here if I had cold weather/water gear. Highs are still in upper 50's but lows are dipping into freezing range. It's hard if winterizing is necessary. I hope to outfitted with cold weather gear soon. GAJ0004
It warmed up enough on Thanksgiving to ski in OH and PA, but my boat and my brother's boats were already winterized. It would have been very expensive day to have to rewinterize..
Baller A_B Posted December 1, 2012 Baller Share Posted December 1, 2012 Gary, we were pretty balmy up here on Thanksgiving day, however, we ski on Saturday AFTER Thanksgiving (ice willing), and the temps dropped like a rock for Saturday. We only had 5 brave skiers to brave the near freezing water, near 32 air, and 10-20mph brain freezer out of the west. This is the owner of Pelican Lake before his run.... (note small ice patches on shoreline)...
GAJ0004
I saw a video once of some guys driving a brand new 200 through the ice to go skiing. That cannot be good for the fiberglass or the gelcoat. I would enjoy getting out now, but preserving my boat is more important..
usaski1
thanksgiving run... not too cold by far, we're 80 deg. today. Starting to get concerned about water again though...
