Imagine doing this for a week every summer!

Just got this "Club Ross" group picture from a buddy in Chicago (lower right). This whole group of families convenes at our house for a week every summer to ski, knee board, wakeboard, barefoot, tube, etc. Brings back happy memories! Lots of skiing, lots of yard games, lots of relaxing with a beer and good friends.

@brady - Mitch got to be the first skier behind this season's promo MC when he and his dad were in town for the Collegiate All Star tournament this past May, it's nice to put faces with names and be able to ski with the friends you make on the BoS.

@6balls. Did I tell you I am changing my name to Douglas Brady Ross? So, what time next year cuz? :) I will be there--wouldn't want to miss a family reunion.

@MS -- I don't think the bar bill could be much bigger. Three sixteen gallon kegs plus untold quantities of gin, vodka, tequila, and scotch. Check the liver light!

@brady...ah yes, I'm having flashbacks of the "Ross-ski Shot Ski". A friend counter sunk shot glasses into the top of a nicely finished wood ski and engraved it. Sits on a rack in the 4 season porch where, um, cards are played.

Sort of like what we have at Lake Latonka. There are two other families next door to my family. We have all been close friends since the 1970's. There are 3 generations present in most of the families. We do the same thing on a smaller scale all summer long. That's what the sport is about..

Memories : 3 families, one big cabin near Hibbing MN. Only worries; when to eat, when to sleep, and how much gas is left in the boat. 25 straight yrs of the best summer times. Thanks for the thread and the burst of memories. Learned to ski there.

@razor Just think if Team Beer would show up for a few hours and put the hurt on those kegs. I guess it would have to be Yuengling.

I skied two sets this morning. Lake was glass and I'm the only guy with a boat still in. 39 degrees out. Eight passes and then hands and feet in a bucket of hot water. Then 11 more passes, more hot water, shower and head to work. Probably pulling the boat this weekend. Next week looks like real winter.

 

@MS -- Team beer is always welcome. You guys would fit right in with the card playing, beer drinking, tequila shot downing, 3AM bedtime crowd!

Oh, and don't forget the 40s. One of our guests brings a cooler full of 40s. If you don't drink at least one of those bad boys during the week you just aren't a real man! Besides, they travel well when you're out in the john boat putting the course in or out in the pontoon boat hanging on the lake!

@MS, he puts tape on the lids so you can't see what you are going to pull and finds the nastiest variety of 40's he can get to put in there. If you pull a OE 800...you got lucky.

@RLogan it is the original "Fat Cat" Brett Schreiber in the upper right corner. Wife Jaime and young Becket as well. If you know them from the U of Iowa ski team, you may also know Gavin and Lynn Cobb who are lower right in the photo.
