Baller tfriess Posted November 2, 2012 Baller Share Posted November 2, 2012 So here's the dilemma. Im going out skiing tomorrow and I just got a Radar Senate C. I thought that the hole patterns were the same, but they are not. Is there any way to make the rear binding plate work for my new stick? If I drill a hole in the back of the plate, then the front holes dont line up. Any suggestions is appreciated. Im going to get some stradas, but I am too anxious to not be able to use my new ski, and go back to my Phantom Truth(very shitty I know).
Baller Waternut Posted November 2, 2012 Baller Share Posted November 2, 2012 Can you drill holes in the bindings to match where the new ski's holes are?
Administrators Horton Posted November 2, 2012 Administrators Share Posted November 2, 2012 How old are those boots? They have lined up since the last ice age. Baller tfriess Posted November 2, 2012 Author Baller Share Posted November 2, 2012 @horton somewhere between 02-05. They are Phantom bindings. They holes on the ski are too wide for the binders. Front works, back doesnt
Administrators Horton Posted November 2, 2012 Administrators Share Posted November 2, 2012 I was wrong. You are screwed Goode ★ HO Syndicate ★ KD Skis ★ MasterCraft ★ PerfSki Radar ★ Reflex ★ S Lines ★ Stokes Drop a dime in the can
travnews
Line up the front holes, then drill the back holes where needed.
Baller tfriess Posted November 2, 2012 Author Baller Share Posted November 2, 2012 Hypothetically speaking, what might happen if I only have the front 2 screws of the binding in.?
Baller Waternut Posted November 2, 2012 Baller Share Posted November 2, 2012 I don't recommend that at all... Best case scenario, you will rip two inserts out the first time you fall OTF. Worst case scenario, you rip the inserts out along with a large chunk of the top skin and core.
Baller tfriess Posted November 2, 2012 Author Baller Share Posted November 2, 2012 @jfw432 I knew it would be bad, just making sure, thanks
Baller Waternut Posted November 2, 2012 Baller Share Posted November 2, 2012 What about running a piece of aluminum bar under the front of the back binding to extend your length. You'd need to run countersunk screws under the bar to attach it to the binding. Ideally, someone near you would let you use their rear toe plate or something until you can get something else. Administrators Horton Posted November 2, 2012 Administrators Share Posted November 2, 2012 What ever you do ...do not drill the ski Goode ★ HO Syndicate ★ KD Skis ★ MasterCraft ★ PerfSki Radar ★ Reflex ★ S Lines ★ Stokes Drop a dime in the can
Baller tfriess Posted November 2, 2012 Author Baller Share Posted November 2, 2012 @jfw432 sounds like a good idea if perfectly executed, but i would certainly screw up. Dont worry @horton I will not drill the ski haha
Baller BraceMaker Posted November 2, 2012 Baller Share Posted November 2, 2012 Do the rear holes fall under the binding at all? Or are they to the sides of the plate? If you really wanted to, you could dual lock the binding to the ski, and then also hit the front two screws.
Baller tfriess Posted November 2, 2012 Author Baller Share Posted November 2, 2012 They are outside of the plate. I will have to live and wait till I got some new binders

Baller Broussard Posted November 3, 2012 Baller Share Posted November 3, 2012 @Horton Radar has a different pattern for their Strada than the other skis .

Baller Steven_Haines Posted November 3, 2012 Baller Share Posted November 3, 2012 Like Bracemaker said... all you need is a scrap piece of aluminum (lowes, home depot) a drill an tape measure. Put ur scrap over ur plate and ur skiing. Simple!
Baller Wayne Posted November 4, 2012 Baller Share Posted November 4, 2012 I'm a little late but see if a local shop has the radar rear support or stiffening plate. Its a black anodized aluminum plate that should work right out of the box with no fabrication.
Baller MJE Posted November 5, 2012 Baller Share Posted November 5, 2012 The "bar" for the rear of the Radar sequence plate might work for you. I think that's what @Wayne is referring to.
