crashman
I would like to see Horton do some video reviews of homemade skis.
skier2788
@eleeski i would love to see your setup. I might start looking at a san diego trip this winter. In the other thread you said to take a factory ski and use a grinder and superfill. Is that a special epoxy or "bondo"? I do auto body work and that "bondo" I wouldnt think would hold I up. Administrators Horton Posted September 25, 2012 Administrators Share Posted September 25, 2012 @eleeski go ahead just don't tell anyone to file or grind a ski they expect to ski well on. Waternut
I'm sure homemade ski's are based on production ski's with small tweaks thrown in. I made my own standup jetski this last winter. Based the mold off of another jetski, modified the things I wanted changed, and vacuum bagged the entire thing. It's light, strong, cheap, and works well. The cloth/resin parts aren't that hard. I'm curious what these guys are using for core though and how they are shaping it.

Baller BraceMaker Posted September 25, 2012 Baller Share Posted September 25, 2012 @horton - I have plenty of left over JB Weld and duct tape - if you are in a silver mood.
skier2788
I am not looking at performance at all just something to kill time and have fun. If I can get up on the thing I will be happy. Thinking an old dual tunnel design like my old concept in a carbon fiber ski could be cool.
