Looking for a place to get a few pulls in SoCal

I currently moved back to SoCal and am without a place to ski. I was skiing at Canyon Lake for a while, but it's a deep lake and I am used to primarily skiing tournament lakes. So skiing at Canyon made it hard to progress much at all. I ski at the Trimble's place in Galt, but it's a far drive to make every weekend and it sucks to only be able to ski once or twice every two weeks. Basically i'm looking for somewhere to ski around late afternoon (when I can leave work) during the week, or whenever during the weekend. I'm open to anywhere, Just driving 400 miles to ski is a bit of a jaunt. I live in Orange County. I currently ski 15' off at 28MPH. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I know that Gail Heinrich (sp?) at Ironwood Ranch does a number of memberships that give you access to 2 lakes. The water is a bit funky but from my perspective its the best value in the area. see @rico 's post for their facebook page. I'm not sure if the other lakes offer memberships. I believe you need to own a lot for most of the other sites, but I could be wrong. If you're headed toward Barstow, Great Lakes used to have memberships that didn't require owning a lot. http://www.skithegreat.com/

I too am looking for spots to ski. I'm back in Socal after a brief stint in Alaska.

A couple options for you.... I have a 99 Nautique that I take out to Elsinore, Perris, or wherever else I can manage to find flat water. Granted it's hard to find a course, but I'm always looking for a third.

Option 2.... Waterski Wednesdays... I throw my 1974 Avenger in Marine Stadium and rip up the mornings with passes. Water is super flat, no people, lots of good turns.... granted it's salty and no buoys, but it's still fun.

I would love to find a group of people to ski with out at a private lake, it'd be nice to turn buoys again....

So to update, I'm looking for a place within 200miles of OC/LA to ski on the weekends. Fresh water is preferred as I've heard salt water can really eat away bits of the ski. I had actually taken some time off from the sport but just recently jumped back on the bandwagon, and looking to get as much time on the water as I can.

@Horton‌ I did hit up wet set ski club and I really liked skiing with them, though it seems that they only meet about once a month and I was looking for something more frequent. It's hard to get ski legs back with skiing once a month. Do you know of any skiing out in the newberry springs/bako area? I would be happy to pay for some coaching as well if you knew of any in the same areas.

@musicm1992‌ ignore @Wolfeie‌ He is upset because he has to seen me run so many 38s this year.

BallerCoins is an idea i had for friends to keep track of who is skiing behind whose boat.

I ski with Todd and give him a BallerCoin => he skis with me he gives it back. It is easier than bringing each other gas cans. Some people like the idea some make fun of it. I give up.
