Baller Skihack Posted September 19, 2012 Baller Share Posted September 19, 2012 Any buzz on these anymore? Looks like Thomas Degas still rides one.
JoeMac
I don't think his is a true wide ride. Â
Administrators Horton Posted September 19, 2012 Administrators Share Posted September 19, 2012 @skimech T-Gas is on a hybrid ski. Baller ForrestGump Posted September 19, 2012 Baller Share Posted September 19, 2012 T-gas is riding a special ski that's a conventional width on one side of centerline and a mid ride on the other side of centerline.
Baller Kelvin Posted September 19, 2012 Baller Share Posted September 19, 2012 Last year T-Gas was riding a hybrid Goode. On his onside it was a regular width 9960. On his offside it was a mid-ride 9960. His bindings were slightly offset to one side to account for the different width on each side.

Baller skibug Posted September 19, 2012 Baller Share Posted September 19, 2012 So...how the heck do you decide to make such a ski. From what I was told, he goes to the factory and makes his own ski by actually cutting up skis and bonding the halves back together. There is no mold for the ski (based on what I was told). Does this science project evolve from riding a couple of skis and deciding that one ski turns better on your onside and another turns better on your offside? Baller ForrestGump Posted September 19, 2012 Baller Share Posted September 19, 2012 I'm pretty sure there is a mold for TGas's ski now.
Baller liquid d Posted September 19, 2012 Baller Share Posted September 19, 2012 I still have a wide ride. I'm on a mid for tournaments, but I'm keeping the wide. It's so much fun to ski on. It swoops out away from you in the turn and right back underneath like a parabolic on snow. You should find one to try, you'll love it within a few passes. My only issue with it was at 39 , I tend to start scrapping hard when I get late and couldn't keep the front of the ski edging when things went south. I also think it works a little better for a bit heavier skier. I'm waiting to see how it works with a kid- mine's getting close to the age I think it'll work. Baller Ed_Johnson Posted September 20, 2012 Baller Share Posted September 20, 2012 Loved the Wide-Ride with Perfect Pass, and set my best short line PB's with it...ZO put and end to that...Switched to the Mid. which was much better for ZO.
