Baller Hugh Nichols Posted August 23, 2012 Baller Share Posted August 23, 2012 The bolt that secures the rudder cable is loose, I can't tighten it up. It sits behind the prop shaft box & in front of the rudder. My question is, if I remove the top of the box can I gain access to the nut to tighten it. BTW its a '02 RESPONSE LX. Members cp
Yes if you remove the cover you can hold the bolt from the bottom, I had a hard time getting mine tight and not leaking so I fabricated a stud so I could get it really tight where it seals and then put a nut on to tighten the cable block. You will need to reseal the cover when you put it back on.
