Baller rodltg2 Posted August 9, 2012 Author Baller Share Posted August 9, 2012 I dont know, I think it's only avail down under right now. I beleive its the LX hull with a full walk thru vs. the step over.
Baller swc5150 Posted August 9, 2012 Baller Share Posted August 9, 2012 Very cool. This should be in the US line up.

SDNAH2OSKIER
Hmmm, I am already skiing behind this boat if I am not mistaken. Identical to an LXi or????
Baller rodltg2 Posted August 10, 2012 Author Baller Share Posted August 10, 2012 Yes u are mistaken. It's a lx hull.
Baller Chef23 Posted August 10, 2012 Baller Share Posted August 10, 2012 Just curious how you can tell it is an LX hull. It would be the perfect boat for my lake.

Baller LakeOneSkier Posted August 10, 2012 Baller Share Posted August 10, 2012 Quite a few posts on themalibucrew.com regarding this boat: http://www.themalibucrew.com/forums/index.php?/topic/39538-new-australian-malibu-response-lxr/page__hl__response I'm going to convert my LX to an LXR this weekend, got a 12 pack of beer and a skill saw ready to go. :-)
Baller swc5150 Posted August 10, 2012 Baller Share Posted August 10, 2012 Any insight as to why they wouldn't offer this in the US? Worries about TXi sales cannibalization?
Baller_ DW Posted August 10, 2012 Baller_ Share Posted August 10, 2012 Chine lines on the front and the narrow observers seat appear to support it being a 90" beam and LX hull. Very nice looking boat.
Baller Killer Posted August 10, 2012 Baller Share Posted August 10, 2012 TXi offers a better pull at most line lengths and better tracking, just a bigger boat. I like the sleek lines of the RLX, I owned a sportster which has always been my favorite ski boat, but it also has nothing on the pull from the new TXi.. the price difference is really the only question, but what would it be? SDNAH2OSKIER
The "old" lx hull??? Can someone be more specific. Looks identical to the 06 LXi, barring the seating pad in the very front of the bow.
Baller Killer Posted August 10, 2012 Baller Share Posted August 10, 2012 @SDNAH2OSKIER the Response (closed bow) and the "old Response LX" (open bow) are different boat(s) from the LXi, they were effectively discontinued a few years ago but Malibu continues to produce them in limited numbers by special order, both in their North America plant and in the old Flightcraft factory in Australia. The Response LX and the LXi are 2 completely different hulls. SDNAH2OSKIER
Website says the LX is the SV23 hull, same one I am skiing behind now. What is different about the R? It is not listed on the site.
Baller auskier Posted August 12, 2012 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2012 same hull, only walkthrough. 65k down here by the time you get ZO and the basics. http://www.boatsales.com.au/boats-for-sale/boatdetails.aspx?R=13139183&Silo=Stock&Vertical=Boat&Ridx=54&eapi=
Baller Ed_Obermeier Posted August 12, 2012 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2012 If it's an LX hull with a full walkthrough that's gonna be a pretty small open bow ala a MC 197 or Sportster OB. I like my LXI because it's roomy enough I can stretch out in it (amongst numerous other reasons). Too small a bow area to be of much use IMO but that's one opinion. With current exchange rates being $1 to 1 AUD kinda pricey too...
