jdarwin
MS is usually at my tournaments so it makes it very difficult to skip out. I even took him to Greeny's in Little Rock. I hope they invite me back.

jdarwin
@jimbrake - that would relate to a different poll: Reason's for not HOSTING a tournament.
Baller gjohnson Posted June 18, 2012 Author Baller Share Posted June 18, 2012 @ jimbrake - I'd add that option if I could edit them.
Baller The_MS Posted June 18, 2012 Baller Share Posted June 18, 2012 JD is right. Gas, lunch, sanction fees to region and national board, ropes and water are just a few costly items.
Baller_ Wish Posted June 18, 2012 Baller_ Share Posted June 18, 2012 Lack of practice, 0 practice with ZO, cost, and family. But that hasn't stopped yet. Kinda a mix of dedication and stupidity. Not sure which side o the fence I fall on. And totally agree with JTH.
Baller Than_Bogan Posted June 18, 2012 Baller Share Posted June 18, 2012 A higher priority conflict is generally the only reason I'll skip any of my favorite tournaments. Here in New England, of course, we start real late, so this coming weekend is going to kick it off for me. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone again! (Heck, I might even ski well...) Marco
Distance would be my vote. There is only one weekend tournament closer than 325 miles from my house/work location this year, and it is still 175 miles away.
Baller RichardDoane Posted June 19, 2012 Baller Share Posted June 19, 2012 "leg in a cast" would be the only reason for me not to ski, but I'd probably still go just to sit in a tower and watch skiers go by.....

Baller 6balls Posted June 19, 2012 Baller Share Posted June 19, 2012 It's all time...I don't have much free time and I like to ski. It's fun to ski tourney's but it comes at a cost of all the other crap I need to get done both for work and the time I do want to spend with my family. I can ski as much in a few hours each Sat/Sun a.m. as I can at a tourney and still satisfy many other obligations. As much as I like tourney skiing, it's hard to beat a morning with @cowtipperguy and/or @razorskier1 followed by hanging on the public water with family and/or friends. Wolfeie
Why would I want to leave one of the premier places to ski at, with a 2011 200 Natique, and the possibility to get 4-5 sets in?
Baller The_MS Posted June 19, 2012 Baller Share Posted June 19, 2012 @Wolfeie The further you can get away from Arvin and Horton the better.
Baller gjohnson Posted June 19, 2012 Author Baller Share Posted June 19, 2012 @pjirsa I always have a good time at tournaments that include @MS. It's like having a personal bartender on site. Wolfeie
I don't know how I will make it through life without an "official" ball count. I guess I am just waisting my time out there on the water having fun. The real reason is this 56 year old guy is slowly catching up to Horton. Less than 6 ball away. Administrators Horton Posted June 20, 2012 Administrators Share Posted June 20, 2012 @wolfeie we all ski for our own reasons I guess. That is a long 6 balls... but I only really count my official scores so it would be 101 balls to catch me.
