woodfamily5
Dang, the Illusion X tower on my '08 Wakesetter LSV is cracked on both sides starting where the tower speakers were factory mounted. Good thing the pylon is great so I can still ski! My local dealer isn't helping out too much. I know Metcraft is a victim of our spectacular economy and they aren't making the Illusion X towers anymore. It sounds like this has been a pretty frequent problem with these towers. Any ideas out there?

Baller thager Posted June 15, 2012 Baller Share Posted June 15, 2012 Take the tower off and have the cracks welded. Or, do your chin ups on shore before skiing! : )
Dscholfield
2008 Wakesetters are notorious for problems(Our boat has bad MUX switches, cracking fiberglass and bad tranny mounts). Although, the problems were specific to MUX switches, JBL Stereo units, ECM programming, etc.. If you check out other websites you'll find a substantial list. Id try calling another dealer till you find one thats useful. It may still be on warranty, but probably not, most of the boats only 3-5 unless you got the extended. Malibu themselves can take a lifetime to respond. Skiing behind an LSV though? That takes guts.
footloose42
Is your's the first generation Illusion X? I heard before they redesigned it, the thing was impossible to raise/lower with less than 3 people, and was just all around poorly made.
