ntx
@wish Usually just a few bolts to the brackets and a couple hoses. The biggest reason why it went undetected, was the fact that it DID NOT show ANY signs of wear. Visually it looked fine. It took about three month of trial and error. Baller swc5150 Posted May 24, 2012 Author Baller Share Posted May 24, 2012 I had the same issue, replaced the impeller; problem solved. All suggestions are good though. I swap my impeller every season, just to be safe.
GAJ0004
My boat normally runs around 130 degrees, but it spikes up to over 180 if I stop after pulling a slalom skier. As soon as I start up the engine it cools back down to normal in less than a minute. I always keep a spare impeller at the house. I take mine out when I winterize. If I see the beginnings of a rip in any of the vanes I replace it. I store it in a jar of antifreeze while the boat is in storage for the winter.
