WBLskier Posted May 10, 2012 Share Posted May 10, 2012 I was at the boat show this past winter and I was told the standard speed control on malibu's is an "rpm lock." I assume most people upgrade to zero off. I have an older boat 98 malibu echelon. I can't drop the money right now for stargazer. Is there some other option (albeit less accurate) that would allow me to add some kind of rpm lock system to at least help. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks. Baller ForrestGump Posted May 10, 2012 Baller Share Posted May 10, 2012 Essentially, your only choice is stargazer. The malibu speed control interfaces to the EFI ECM just like the ZO does. I've got someone that is looking for a system perhaps, for an older nautique (94.. its EFI, but of course TC) BTW, you saw my post on my prop right? Its better than new, cuz I reduced the pitch 1...
