Members ktm300
My 74lb daughter is ready to learn 22. How best to set up a 196 to lessen the 22 off bump? Weight the nose? How much? Would moving the trim tab shift the bump? Of course we could experiment to figure it out but, I know the forum already has this dialed. Thanks. Baller teammalibu Posted April 20, 2012 Baller Share Posted April 20, 2012 I once overheard a girls one skier ask Bubba Powell why his 196 had a 22 off bump. His reply was, well little girl they had to put it somewhere!
east tx skier
It may depend on the year. Sounds like you have a TSC3? I recall reading that Joe hung about 80 lbs from the underside of the lifting eye in his old 2007. I tried 60 lbs in the nose of my 98 SN (TSC) and it made it plow at slow speeds and steer sluggishly at ski speeds. The wake wasn't improved one bit. I took the weight out of the boat completely. It was already fantastic.
Baller LeonL Posted April 20, 2012 Baller Share Posted April 20, 2012 I'm not so sure that the "22 off bump" is really at 22 off at 52K. It's there for most boats at 55K, but it moves somewhat with speed change. I've never skied 22 at 34 mph, so I can't say that for sure.
Baller elr Posted April 20, 2012 Baller Share Posted April 20, 2012 @KTM300 - Your daughter isn't imagining things, my M7 ski partner starts at 32/22 and says the rooster tail is right there behind the '07 196. We haven't played with anything yet but I'll let you know if we find something that works.
