Skihack
Any one still riding their Strada55's?
Baller A_B Posted March 30, 2012 Baller Share Posted March 30, 2012 Yes.
Baller A_B Posted March 31, 2012 Baller Share Posted March 31, 2012 The 55 is a lot faster than the old Senate C I tried out. This should be a model they offer in the lineup!
Baller Wish Posted March 31, 2012 Baller Share Posted March 31, 2012 This is a slightly wider Strada correct????
Baller A_B Posted April 1, 2012 Baller Share Posted April 1, 2012 Yes with a wider tail, I would call it more of a mid-Strada. The major difference vs the Senate C is the PVC core in the 55 vs. the poly core in the Senate C. The PVC provides more rebound. the 55 is based off the Strada mold somewhat, which was a change from the prior year. I think it turns better than the old version I had. The Strada longer model is 69.5".
Baller Wish Posted April 1, 2012 Baller Share Posted April 1, 2012 Now that's a ski I'd like to try. That was a limited run correct? Did it have the same graphics as the Strada?
Baller A_B Posted April 1, 2012 Baller Share Posted April 1, 2012 White top with black/gold bottom. I think someone said it was a RS1 graphic. I bought 2 last year, one for me and one for my ski partner. I believe there are only a couple of each length.
Baller greghayes Posted April 1, 2012 Baller Share Posted April 1, 2012 Yes - my Strada55 has the RS1 graphic and I am still very happily skiing on it.
Baller greghayes Posted December 9, 2013 Baller Share Posted December 9, 2013 Now selling that same ski - if anyone is interested. This is a great 34mph ride. http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?topic=Search&category=Slalom&postid=26215
matt_b
Still on mine. I don't think I will ever outgrow this ski, and I really don't believe all the hype about having to buy the latest and greatest each season. If I'm not progressing, it's me, not the ski. Marketing ! Baller A_B Posted December 9, 2013 Baller Share Posted December 9, 2013 I have a 69" that I would sell.
Administrators Horton Posted December 9, 2013 Administrators Share Posted December 9, 2013 Strada 55 was not an official Radar product. It was an limited run R&D ski that some bozo named “Strada 55”. It was made from the Senate mold and built with Strada materials. The Senate is the same shape as the Strada but .2” (I think) wider. Baller jpattigr Posted December 10, 2013 Baller Share Posted December 10, 2013 AB Sent you a PM re 69 that you have. Thanks
Baller A_B Posted December 10, 2013 Baller Share Posted December 10, 2013 PVC core vs senate poly core. Full carbon layup like Strada.
Bill22
@Horton yes that was a bone head move to name a ski with 55's in the name. I almost did not read this because I thought it was about Radar making buoys!
Administrators Horton Posted December 11, 2013 Administrators Share Posted December 11, 2013 @Bill22 yea not sure whose idea that was. I am sure the name did not come from Radar marketing. Baller RichardDoane Posted December 11, 2013 Baller Share Posted December 11, 2013 I remember that the name came from @horton, as in it was a ski that really performed at 55kph, but I might be wrong
Baller MattP Posted December 11, 2013 Baller Share Posted December 11, 2013 @richarddoane you must be mistaken if it is in KPH or Meters @Horton looks like a cow that just saw a new gate.
MAD11
Think I have one in the garage with a 1/4 slice out of the tail to make it thinner. Baker ran 39 on it in a few tournaments when we were messing with it.
Baller ForrestGump Posted December 11, 2013 Baller Share Posted December 11, 2013 I saw Baker run 1@41 twice on that thing.
Administrators Horton Posted December 11, 2013 Administrators Share Posted December 11, 2013 I ran a bunch of 38s on mine before I realized my rope was long Quote Support BallOfSpray by supporting the companies that support BallOfSpray California Ski Ranch ☆ Connelly ☆ Denali ☆ Eden Lake ☆ Goode ☆ HO Syndicate ☆MasterCraft ☆ Masterline ☆ Pentalogo ☆ Performance Ski and Surf ☆ Reflex ☆ Radar ☆ Rodics OffCourse ☆ S Lines ☆ Stokes About Horton
Baller tjm Posted December 16, 2013 Baller Share Posted December 16, 2013 I thought 55 meant for skiers 55 and over.
