Baller thager Posted January 4, 2012 Baller Share Posted January 4, 2012 I've got a 2002 SN 196 insured by Ski Safe. $287 seems a bit steep with a 5 month layup. Who is everyone using now days?
Baller swc5150 Posted January 4, 2012 Baller Share Posted January 4, 2012 My '08 196 was insured with Met Life, and I was about the same as you, with a 5 month layup as well.
Baller RichardDoane Posted January 4, 2012 Baller Share Posted January 4, 2012 my promo boat is insurance through Global Marine email Service@GlobalMarine.com or 800 748 0224 I'm sure that your personal boat coverage would be a lot less than mine
Baller Not_The_Pug Posted January 4, 2012 Baller Share Posted January 4, 2012 I have a 2001 CC through Ski Safe and pay about the same for $500k liability per lake owner. I have called both Ski Safe and Global, they are pretty similar. If you want it lower, check the value you have it insured for. With a boat you set the value, they don't lower it automatically like a auto policy.
Baller dave2ball Posted January 4, 2012 Baller Share Posted January 4, 2012 Try Global Marine. I switched from ski safe and got a much better deal.

Baller_ Wish Posted January 5, 2012 Baller_ Share Posted January 5, 2012 Progressive - under $350 with $500 deductable. My shaft broke off my Supra in 2004. Rep showed up at my house, called local CC dealer to get estimate on what he saw and cut me a check in my driveway. Boat went to Supra dealer where they found further damage to rudder and rudder box. Rep drove to dealer and cut them a check for the rest. Bought a SN196 a year later worth twice the Supra and the premium never went up with the new boat or the damage to the old one which was in the thousands. That's why I've kept them. boarditup
Global is the way to go. They are the only company that insures for competition use on a personal policy.
Wolfeie
I pay $226 through Auto Club for 500K liability and 1K deductable on a 2004 Mastercraft X7 used at private ski lake. I bundled all of my insurance (home, auto, etc) for first time.
