Razorskier1
Congratulations to the Iowa Hawkeye ski team on winning the wildcard slot to Collegiate Nationals!!! I don't think my son Mitch had any idea that would happen when he left for his freshman year in August!
Baller MattP Posted October 4, 2011 Baller Share Posted October 4, 2011 Congrats to your son and the team! I wish my school had a team1
Baller 6balls Posted October 4, 2011 Baller Share Posted October 4, 2011 This rocks. I'm a Hawkeye ski team alum, and obviously proud of my nephew. Mitch is apparently 4th ranked in the region in slalom. Yo Razor, I don't think I can get the hall pass to go watch...so take some video!
Baller thager Posted October 4, 2011 Baller Share Posted October 4, 2011 Go Mitch!! Sorry, I just can't bring myself to say "Go Hawkeyes", although that sounds a lot more intimidating than a dammed striped Gopher.
jdarwin
Jim - see ya there! My chat of "Go Hawks" will be referring to another team!

Razorskier1
My Hawkeyes outskied their wildcard seeding and placed 5th in D2 Nationals! What a great tournament hosted by Bennett's.
Members GK
It was a great tournament and watching Zack Worden stomp a new collegiate record of 195' was incredible!
Razorskier1
Agreed! Zack was a stud all weekend, but that jump effort was amazing, with 4 huge jumps topped by the record (fast second segment on first jump of 193 for those in the audience at home). Baller 6balls Posted October 16, 2011 Baller Share Posted October 16, 2011 GO HAWKS! Man I hate to admit it (cuz it ages me) but I was a founding father of that joint. We started with no boat, then got a donated puke yellow '82 MC Stars and Stripes w/2000 hours on it. Replaced manifold gaskets, starter, rebuilt the carb, new throttle and steering cables and off we went. Had a course on a public reservoir but no jump...we jumped at tourneys. I came in as a slalom specialist, but next thing you know I was tricking and jumping at every tourney. My best friends to this day are from the collegiate ski experience. Looks like from the pics that many of these kids will say the same one day. It appears there is some old dude in a business suit on the far right. Razorskier1
The old dude has become the unofficial "Team Dad". He is even more dated than you! A great group of kids in need of a little more equipment and coaching.
