Baller_ Wish Posted October 1, 2011 Baller_ Share Posted October 1, 2011 Sorry , but hate it. I like the free flow of different ideas topics discussions popping up. Categorizing them makes it look like all the other forums (skiing or other wise) out there. I think it's a way to keep things organized yes but it just seems...well, like all the others. An improvement I could see work for organization would be a highly accurate and functional search engine within the forum allowing user to easily find what they are looking for. Keep it a free flow of ideas popping up. My 2 cents. Probably worth less though.
Administrators Horton Posted October 1, 2011 Author Administrators Share Posted October 1, 2011 I agree. Just looking at options. As the site keeps getting bigger I need to find a way to keep it under control and readable. Not sure, just want to stay ahead of the curve. Traffic is growing at a rate that scares me. Baller skibug Posted October 2, 2011 Baller Share Posted October 2, 2011 I sort of like the "bucketized" approach as it seems a little more organized.
Baller Texas6 Posted October 2, 2011 Baller Share Posted October 2, 2011 I understand the dilemma but personally believe buckets will take away from the open discussion format. I also think you will end up with a single bucket for which everyone will speak as they are today.

Baller ForrestGump Posted October 2, 2011 Baller Share Posted October 2, 2011 The bucket'd one. I'm good with either one.
Baller SM Posted October 2, 2011 Baller Share Posted October 2, 2011 I definitely prefer the old format, I like seeing all the discussions at once. If you like we can come here less often to keep your traffic down:)
Nick Sullivan
I like it but, I think it could be better if there was a button that would bring up a page with all the new posts or topics.
Baller_ Wish Posted October 2, 2011 Baller_ Share Posted October 2, 2011 If it has to go the way of the buckets, I like Sully's idea of being able to click on a button and basically see the old format of the latest posts. My guess is that button will be pushed A LOT. That may be complicated and if so....old style. Still think it needs a kicken in house search engine. Baller Bulldog Posted October 2, 2011 Baller Share Posted October 2, 2011 I agree with Brent 100%, the mark all read button saves me time and makes sense. Please bring it back!! "Do Better..."
Baller Bulldog Posted October 2, 2011 Baller Share Posted October 2, 2011 I just looked at the "New" look, I like the current one better if you are starting a poll….sorry for the double post surfing before coffee is a bad idea.. Baller PBD Posted October 2, 2011 Baller Share Posted October 2, 2011 I like the existing system but would like to be able to navigate directly to any new comments that have been posted to a thread I have previously looked at. In other words each thread would have a link I could click on that would take you directly to comments I haven't seen.
Baller MattP Posted October 2, 2011 Baller Share Posted October 2, 2011 @PBD when I click on a link that has new comments my browser jumps down the page to the first unread comment. What browser are you using?
Baller rayn Posted October 2, 2011 Baller Share Posted October 2, 2011 Like PBD, I frequently do not jump right to the first unread comment, using Chrome 14.0.835.186 m
hogexpress
For threads that have multiple pages, it would be nice have a way to skip to 'next' page at the top of the thread instead of having to scroll all the way down to bottom of page to click to a subsequent page. Likewise, would there be a way to put a 'Top of Page' button at the bottom of each page of comments instead of having to scroll back up.
