block
I would like the Professor of skioligy ( Horton) to compare the Obrien Elite and the Sans Rival SR2. I am about to try the Sans . I have been skiing on a 2009 Elite for 3 years. Thanks!
Baller Ed_Johnson Posted August 23, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 23, 2011 You will Love the Sans. Hope yours is the soft flex with the Carbon Fin. I liked mine so much I listed a New Nano on Ski-it-Again for only $1250 with optional thinner fin and fwd ventral. Reference # SIA 16633 The SR-2 is by far the best ski I have ever been on. block
Thanks, I cannot wait to try it. My Elite is 68.5 the sr-2 is a 68, I am 200.25 lbs. I wonder how fast the Sans will feel off the ball? I don't want to have a lot of pressure off the ball ie I want the ski to carry speed through the turn--- no stall. Administrators Horton Posted August 23, 2011 Administrators Share Posted August 23, 2011 Hmmm looking forward to your thoughts. Settings are key. I am back at stock again. I rode my stiff Elite this weekend so we are on the same page. Baller skibug Posted August 24, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 24, 2011 Horton, do you still maintain that the Elite and SR-2 have no similarities; or, that you still won't make the comparison for reasons of maintaining impartiality?
Administrators Horton Posted August 24, 2011 Administrators Share Posted August 24, 2011 I do not have the same mind set on these two skis. Different things stand out to me. I do not like to directly compare skis too much. The Elite has a smaller envelope and is more finicky at the edge change and finish of the turn. The radius of the turn is also not the same. Weight distribution at on side turn is not the same (I think, would have to get Elite back out to check). They both float.
