Skiag
Anyone have any new details or pictures? I saw on a wakeboard forum (gasp!) some pics of some new boats. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about our beloved ski boats :)
Skiag
Here's a pic of a 2012 SAN 210... No analog gauges! Ah! Think that will be the same for the 200? http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/2439/imageglj.jpg
Baller ForrestGump Posted August 19, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 19, 2011 Yes, 200 no longer has analog gauges for 2012. ZO is completely built into the dash display.
Baller Bulldog Posted August 19, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 19, 2011 That will be a cheap fix when it shorts out!!!lol "Do Better..."

Baller ForrestGump Posted August 20, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 20, 2011 Actually, the screen is fairly resilient. Only a few have been replaced since Nautique went to them in 08 and most were because of physical damage. Oh, and it's also a lot cheaper than you would think to replace. Baller_ Wish Posted August 20, 2011 Baller_ Share Posted August 20, 2011 I'm thinkn $800.00+. Am I off? If not, that ain't cheap.
Baller rwskier Posted August 20, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 20, 2011 The analog gauges are still available however they have gone to keyless ignition with all the boats
Members McGruder
I had to pay over $600 to replace a KEYPAD on a Nautique (no labor, cost of part only). I will say I felt like the dealer could set whatever price he wanted, and did. I'm certain it is MUCH cheaper than that to manufacture - like maybe $30. Point is, based on that experience, the Linc will not be cheap even though it may be an inexpensive part to manufacture.
Baller thager Posted August 20, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 20, 2011 Water, sun, heat, and electronics. No thanks! I'll stay with analog.
Baller east tx skier Posted August 21, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 21, 2011 My remaining Airguide is going on 14 years old and still ticking with its sister gauge in reserve (replaced by Perfect Pass) in case things go bad. I'm going to go out on a limb and say peak of reliability (as far as gauges go) in 99.
Baller swc5150 Posted August 22, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 22, 2011 One can buy a keypad at nautiqueparts.com for $170, with the PN discount. The MSRP on keypads is only $375, so $600 is getting burned badly. Sorry to hear that:( The new linc is way cool, IMHO. LCD screens are pretty tried and true technology at this point, so I'm confident they'll last - perhaps not as long as good old analogs though. I'm not aware of the replacement cost of a linc, but at least it's only one gauge, versus an entire dash pod (like the Teleflex debacle).

Baller Jordan Posted August 22, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 22, 2011 Wow...that's quite a list price! 2012 MASTERCRAFT PROSTAR 197 Other in Pewaukee, WI$71,045.00 http://www.boattrader.com/find/listing/MASTERCRAFT-PROSTAR%20197-99219710/?ZMC=Oodle&BAC-Oodle
Baller Razorskier1 Posted August 22, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 22, 2011 While I realize you can do better on pricing buy not optioning a boat out, ski boat pricing has gotten completely out of line with economic reality. Just one more factor that makes it hard to grow our sport with a broader audience and with younger skiers. Water access, boat prices, equipment. Water skiing has priced itself out of the market of most people.
Baller ForrestGump Posted August 22, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 22, 2011 Linc displays are $750. CC says they've only replaced 6 in the 4 full model years(now going into year 5) they've had them.
Baller swc5150 Posted August 22, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 22, 2011 is that $750 msrp? If so, I'm guessing 5 bills or so from nautiqueparts.com, or similar site? I may be the minority, but I'm sold on it.
Baller unksskis Posted August 22, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 22, 2011 I still do not understand the logic in moving something that a driver may/will look or at least glance at, down and to the right, rather than in front of the driver. Baller_ Wish Posted August 22, 2011 Baller_ Share Posted August 22, 2011 Does any diver look down after the first beep while pulling a skier through the course? Like the new graphics. The angled shadow lines on the side seem to coinside with the spray leaving the hull. Cool!
Baller unksskis Posted August 22, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 22, 2011 possibly, maybe not, but what about after dropping the skier, bumping up speed or changing settings, now the driver looks down and to the right, all while still navigating the boat to avoid shore, skier, etc.
Baller_ Wish Posted August 22, 2011 Baller_ Share Posted August 22, 2011 Skier at that point should be down and to the right.
Baller unksskis Posted August 22, 2011 Baller Share Posted August 22, 2011 true point, just don't like it
Baller_ Wish Posted August 22, 2011 Baller_ Share Posted August 22, 2011 I will say it looks weird but cange often does. There are several car makes and models that implement this off center gauge package. Now in a car, down and to the right makes no sence. Sure, better forward visibility for grandma and maybe a 10 yr old.
