Baller rawly Posted May 16, 2011 Baller Share Posted May 16, 2011 I have an '05 Mastercraft X-7 with MCX engine that is drive by wire.I need to get a new ECM(boat sank). Is there a Zero Off conversion available yet?I've searched the net and haven't found it yet.I'm sure you Ballers have the answer. Are you out there Jody? Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted May 16, 2011 Baller_ Share Posted May 16, 2011 Steve, On paper your motor can be made to work and be converted but the price is not as it is to convert a excalibur PCM motor. nothing to my knoweledge is available as plug and play. Wire harness will have to be modified. Get me the boat and be the first to make it happen.
Baller rawly Posted May 16, 2011 Author Baller Share Posted May 16, 2011 Thanks Jody, Wish I could get you the boat, but it's home is "in a tent near Bakersfield,California".Do you have a ball park guess on what this conversion might cost?Maybe someone local can be the first.Calling all Ballers, one of you can be the first to step up. KrW
I also want to install Zero off on an 05 Prostar 190 with MCX and drive by wire. I've asked the local MC dealer and they don't seem to know what is involved. They have been slow getting back to me. Any answers out there? Baller_ RichardDoane Posted May 17, 2011 Baller_ Share Posted May 17, 2011 KrW - since there is no "plug n play" way to ZO your 2005, you should just sell it and buy a boat that left the factory with ZO. BTW, I know of a beautiful 2011 MC 197WTT in Seattle, click on the SIA "promo boats" tab on top of the home page.....my dealer may be interested in your trade in.... John Brooks
Not sure if you guys noticed, but Perfect Pass has been testing a Zero Off simulator. Apparently it is a add on to Star Gazer. If you check out the Perfect Pass website under the news section, there are a couple comments about the simulator. This may be a great option (and less expensive than a ZO conversion). I know I am hopeful they will bring this to market soon. John.
Baller rawly Posted May 18, 2011 Author Baller Share Posted May 18, 2011 Yeah John, that's what I plan on doing.Just thought I'd get the ECM that is capable of running both systems if it was out there. That way I could upgrade to Z.O. down the road if I wanted to.Thanks Guys
Baller Bdecker Posted May 18, 2011 Baller Share Posted May 18, 2011 I have the same setup (O5 MC with MCX) and I don't think you can swap the ECU for the eControls due to the change in the catalytic converter in 07, and they haven't developed one for the 05-06 motor. Perhaps that's not a deal killer, but certainly complicates matters.
