DH
Hi, The wife and I are considering a move to a warmer climate region such as Florida, South Carolina...etc. Can anyone comment on mechanical engineering job opportunities near ski communities in the south east? Thanks
jwr
I'm a mechanical engineer working in Pensacola, Florida. There aren't a ton of options around here, but there does seem to be quite a few in the Orlando/Tampa area. It will probably have to do more with what kind of work you want to do. South Carolina has some auto plants, as well as Alabama. You could always move to Orlando and get a job with Nautique. That is what I was going to do when I was a kid. I guess I still have time. Administrators Horton Posted May 9, 2011 Administrators Share Posted May 9, 2011 Prices are down right now. There is a house or two on a lake that can be had for a steal right now. http://www.zillow.com/homes/arvin-ca_rb/#/homes/for_sale/Arvin-CA/50774_rid/35.181771,-118.823648,35.171511,-118.846607_rect/15_zm/1_fr/ BABE’S ★ California Ski Ranch ★ Connelly ★ Denali ★ Goode ★ Mastering The Art Of Waterskiing HO ★ KDSkis ★ MasterCraft ★ MasterLine ★ PerfSki ★ Radar ★ Reflex ★ SLines ★ Stokes

kfennell
$400k and up I assume to live like that? So would need to have a combined income close to $200k to be comfortable. maybe $180k and a truck.

Baller dleenhouts Posted May 12, 2011 Baller Share Posted May 12, 2011 Just got an offer back in Boston after 2 years of funemployment. Gotta move away from the lake house, but at least now I can afford gas. Anyone up for a summer's worth of pulls outside of the hub?
