Baller Laz Posted February 27, 2011 Baller Share Posted February 27, 2011 It's winter here and we have a fresh 5 inches of fresh snow to look at this morning. Winter is for watching ski videos and as I recall, Youtube was originally designed for slalom ski videos (the cat thing only came later). I thought the first 3 GoPro videos were interesting, but it hardly helps me analyze technique, scrutinize body position, study back arm pressure and investigate gate theory. I'm just saying. Baller ForrestGump Posted February 27, 2011 Baller Share Posted February 27, 2011 I'm with you, Laz. I don't personally get much at all from the GoPro videos where it's attached on the skier or ski.
Baller 6balls Posted February 27, 2011 Baller Share Posted February 27, 2011 Most useful gopro view I've seen for technique analysis is mounted on the ski, but looking up at the skier. I did think the rear view in J-mac's video was interesting in terms of ski path. At this point in the winter, having blown the driveway again yesterday...I'll watch just about anything ski related. Baller ral Posted February 27, 2011 Baller Share Posted February 27, 2011 I think the main point is not analyzing but enjoying the process and result. They are fun cameras, can be mounted in creative ways and are a great conversation topic at the dock. Having said that, if you see Jason McClintock's video posted by Brent, you can see how patient he is for getting back to the handle after the buoy. Unfortunately, from the same view I see my hands going quicker to it...
