jtskier
Have been skiing on a Reflex hardshell with Wiley rear for several years. Waiting on new HO CoX SL 67" to arrive tomorrow. Looking for some basic guidance for distance from tail to mount the Reflex. I know there is difference between the Reflex and the HO boots at the heels. Could do it by trial and error with the factory setting as a starting point, but wanted to minimize the experiments late in our season here in Texas. Thanks for any input! Baller Marco Posted November 3, 2010 Baller Share Posted November 3, 2010 I was running 29-5/8" on my Fischer, and 29 1/2" on my Elite. Measured to the back of the heel cup, not the tab where the Silveretta clamps. Those #'s are pretty close to factory... jtskier
Thanks for the input! Still waiting for the ski. Fedex says tomorrow. Weather turned bad anyway ... winds of 20 to 30 mph tomorrow.
KrW
I just switched to Reflex front with Wiley rear for this season. Have not used them yet but seems like rear toe could get whacked by front binding release. Does this happen or does everything work fine on OTF fall? (I'm on XXL) Any input form Reflex users appreciated.
Baller_ RichardDoane Posted March 26, 2011 Baller_ Share Posted March 26, 2011 Bruce55 was wearing a shin guard this past summer to protect his rear shin I think.
Baller ral Posted March 27, 2011 Baller Share Posted March 27, 2011 KrW, it does not happen. And if your front binding releases and you are still on your back binding on an OTF, your rear toes would be the least of your problems... What happens, though, with RTP's, is that, before the front binding release, your foot goes off the toe slip and shin smashes the (closed) Silvretta. Happens a lot in tricks as well. Shin guards are helpful, as well as an optional Silvretta cover made by Reflex.
KrW
Thanks for the info. I have one of the covers made by Reflex but it adds enough bulk that it hits the rear binding and doesn't look like it releases properly. I will deal with the shin issue if it crops up. Overall this setup is feeling great so I want to make it work.
