wtrskii3156
I popped a handle into the side of my A1 and unfortunately took a nice chunk out of it. What do you guys use to patch it up?

Shortenit
DId the same thing to my SixAm a few years ago. Drew said it would repair fine. Cleaned the area with Prep Sol then used MarineTex epoxy to fill it in. Wet sanded it down smooth and skied on it for 2 more years. Never moved, cracked or changed in any way. If I had painted it with Goode type bottom paint you would have never known. Have used it on more stressful applications as well with great results. www.marinetex.com
Baller skibug Posted August 14, 2010 Baller Share Posted August 14, 2010 Ditto on the marine tex, actually just had to repair my ski this week. Handle popped the same exact spot where I fixed it three years ago. the way to get a really nice surface to start sanding from is to use the old plastic overhead projector transparencies. Cut a peice larger than the repair area, After you apply the marine tex, tape the plastic over the area and make it contour to the ski. Let it cure for 12 hours and remove the plastic. it will be really smooth. Then just sand course to remove the majority of the excess and wet sand smooth. It works great.
