My ski partner, Charles Mueller, 2nd in Mens 2 w 4 at 38 off. 1st went to Chris Brown with 4 1/2 at 38 and 3rd went to Adam Cord with 2 at 38 off.

Scot - good point.  OB skied 2 @ 38 (a PB by the way) and finished 26th!!  Are you kidding me?  That used to be the EP to go to Nationals.  But Scot, as hard as it is to believe .5 @ 39 is 14th, it's harder to believe 1 @ 41 gets you second.

i tweeted what i could but my battery on the phone was dying very quickly. Must have been from that PB performance by the crazed skier from ATL I was videoing and taking pictures of.

Shame we had to leave with 10 skiers to go as we had a flight to catch.

I am glad that Chad Meny won the slalom event he missed the entrance gates at Regionals and didn't fuss about it. Winning Nationals I am sure makes up for it. Chad is a second year Boys 2 skier and can obviously rip.

 

I can tell my son he tied the Boys 2 National Champion at Regionals (my guy turned inside of 1 ball on his opener).

I think the girl who got 4th place in Girls 1 slalom, Jashee Yang, just started skiing this year and is not from a waterskiing family. I think her and her dad just decided to come out to Sunset to take lessons and learn to ski. If I remember right, she won regionals too. Pretty impressive and great for our sport.

Dr. Jack Horton "if you need to know anything about Chicago slums, just ask". He saw the better part of the southside in finding his way to the site.

Illinois finest come through supporting the tournament.  The Barry Horton family was stopped on the way to the site this morning for allegedly going 70 in a 50. Barry's wife resisted her natural instincts of flooring it in order to get her lovely daughter to G2 slalom which was slated to begin in only a few minutes!!  Please were made asking for an escort to allow for an arrest/ticketing at the nationals location. Finally, reprieve came when Katie opened the car, unloaded it, got her slalom, put on her vest and waited for their good friends the Morris' to drive by and maybe pick her up. Upon seeing this spectacle, the trooper exercised superior compassionate judgement and sent Barry's anxious and grateful family on their way!!
