Jim39off
If you didn't ski what would your hobby / workout be? Just don't get the joy I once did the last 2 years. I would have more $$ in my pocket I know that maybe.

Bill Gladding
Cycling! I started spinning in January '08, bought a Specialized Allez in the Fall of '08 and ride a couple of days a week in addition to running and some gym work outs. There are numerous groups in Jacksonville, Florida that ride anywhere from 18 to 25 mph. When you start out just hang onto the back until you get the hang of it and as you progress work your way up and take your turn pulling. Very satisfying work outs with friends cooperating to maintain a good pace.

Baller scoke Posted October 27, 2009 Baller Share Posted October 27, 2009 are you saying you're not enjoying it as much these last two years? if so, take up a very dangerous sport, hell any sport, blow out an ACL/Dislocate anything and then think about skiing. See how much joy you have when you get it back. i'd like to see some flops full time if i didn't ski: world series of poker or with the local card table clowns. Jim39off
I guess what I'm was trying to say to is after all these years of skiing thinking I would never get tired of it but Im a little burned out took off for 6 months and still don't get the drive to ski like I once did and this is all in the past 2 years.. Then when I see the boat sitting there that is alot of $$ sitting around that could make be some more $$ but if I sell the boat imight never want to buy a new one since this sport is getting to pricy lately.. But if I didn't ski would I miss it ???

Boody
How ironic, I just ordered P90x today. I hear great things about it.I am also thinking about mountain biking this winter. Would love a dirt bike too, but concerned about injuries. aguylikeshark
i just put a video (twitter/youtube/FM Site) on a workout system perfect for skiers. a local doctor/athlete has been using it and i got introduced to it by Angela - a trainer at our gym. i bought two of these right away. people at the gym say "hey that looks like waterskiing". it does - but i would say it's more like tricking which gives you a full rounded workout. HO 410
I learned about the TRX when Drew Brees was rehabbing his shoulder a few years back. I was curious, but not curious enough to drop $150 on the basic kit. Flash forward a few years, and learning a fun trick to tie knots with a chain-link and a carabiner, I raided my rock-climbing / slack lining bag to jury rig a TRX type system, and I must say it really is a gym in a bag. It's very simple, lightweight and extremely portable. Personally, I found the main benefits to be that almost all exercises engage the core and require/train enhanced balance.

Baller ForrestGump Posted October 29, 2009 Baller Share Posted October 29, 2009 I'd pull the 1600 horsepower radial tired drag car out of the garage and go scare myself silly 7 1/2 seconds at a time. Instead it's going to its new owner in 2 weeks.

Gern Blanston
my hobby is rehabbing the injuries I sustained skiing! If my kids weren't so little, I'd play more golf. I like running and cycling. I think I'd really enjoy rowing - but don't want to blow the funds on a scull when I don't know if I'd like it or not. I really like the idea of ripping across the glassy lake under my own power.  Ah to be rich and retired while still young enough to enjoy it.... I'm VERY shocked no one has said porn star or something along those lines.
